>STEPHEN AND THE HEAVY METALS
The Metals: A race of intergalactic aliens, the Metals are beings composed primarily of a living, liquid metal similar to that of the T-1000's in Terminator. This metal is controlled by their “core” a solid piece of whatever metal they are composed of, that is hidden deep within their bodies. When a Metals body suffers enough damage, or is disrupted in some form (excessive magnetism, extreme temperature, etc.), it heats up and burns away, leaving the core exposed and vulnerable. After enough time has passed, the core releases new living metal, that reforms as the Metals new body. Both processes are rather violent in nature, and result in a large amount of damage to the area around them, if considerable precautions are not met. A Metals form is highly versatile, and allows them to shape shift their bodies into most any form they choose, including rudimentary weapons and animal forms. Spotting a metal is easy, as they cannot change color. Metals do not summon weapons from their cores, but rather an instrument unique to that metal type. Not all metals know how to do this, or are even aware the ability exists, as it was discovered with the help of humans (more details later). These instruments of rock are used by the metals that summon them to do battle with their enemies. Should the music played be hardcore enough, a Metal can change reality around them, and use it to do any number of things. Metals can combine their physical forms with other metals to create Alloys, more powerful Metals, with combined instruments.

Back story: Led by Platinum Gold, the Metal empire spread throughout the cosmos, consuming worlds, and enslaving and destroying rival civilizations. Crucible Steel, one of Platinum’s generals, rebelled against the empire, seeking to end the tyranny of his former leader. With an army at his side, he fought a battle that raged across the universe. Fighting a losing war, Crucible came across the vikings of earth, who taught his men the secrets of heavy metal, and the ability to call forth powerful instruments of rock from their metal core. With this new weapon, Crucible Steel and his men fought back against Platinum’s legions, and drove them away from earth. It didn't take long for the Metals of the empire to learn of this new ability, and use it themselves. Reaching a stalemate, Steel challenged Platinum Gold to a one on one guitar battle to determine the fate of reality. Gold accepted Steels duel, but cheated during the match. Using The Forbidden Note, he destroyed most of Steels army, and left many scarred and deformed, creating the first Rusted Metals. They didn't get turned into monsters, they just go crazy and play shitty pop music. Platinum believed Crucible to be among the fallen, and he and his armies left the now useless planet as a reminder to any who stood against the armies of the Empire. He was unaware of the fact that Steel played such a mean guitar riff, he had been able to protect himself, and those close to him. After thousands of years of protecting earth from all numbers of threats, Crucible Steel fell in love with Georgia Universe, a now retired rock star, and gave up his from to have a son.

PART 3

>The Heavy Metals: The name of Crucibles rebellion, the Heavy Metals have now been reduced to four members as a result of the war. They patrol the universe using warp pads and their space ship The Crucible (the replacement for the Temple, renamed after the death of Crucible Steel). Using them, the Heavy Metals fight aliens, other Metals, and inter dimensional forces that threaten humanity and earth.

>Stephen Universe: The 17 year old half human, half Metal son of Crucible Steel and Georgia Universe. He looks like a taller and lankier version of young Greg, with shoulder length hair. He acts like a cross between our Steven and Ted from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. He can summon his fathers electric guitar

>Silver: The Pearl equivalent, he summons an electric Cello as his instrument, and pilots The Crucible.

>Cobalt: The Amethyst rip off, he has a drum set as his instrument, and is Stephens back up singer.

>Bronze: The alloy of Copper and Tin, Bronze was the leader of the group until Stephen proved he was ready. He has a guitar keyboard as his instrument, a combination of Tin's keyboard, and Copper's acoustic guitar.

As the image says, the world would be heavily inspired by 80's imagery and cyberpunk. Playing the instruments allows you to shape reality. A guitar riff could summon you a new car, playing the drums right could start a thunderstorm, or a lazer show. Because of this, when multiple Metals get into a rock battle, the world around them gets transformed into something akin to an animated music video, granting them power beyond imagine. Properly playing them requires years of practice, and immense skill.

I can't think of better character names, and I've run out of ideas, so I guess this is done now.

after all the show was conceived as 3 seasons before being divvied up, and the first part of a season is bound to be weaker then the second half, but im looking through the episodes season 2 (which woulda just been the first half of a bigger season) and its actually REALLY on point. we have sworn to the sword, and that whole garnet vs pearl rape arc, nightmare hospital and the peridot arc.

i had hope for rocknaldo when amethyst said 'you've done everything you can for him' and i was hoping it would lead to a heavier ending where Steven learns that he CANT save everyone, and foreshadow him trying to convert more gems and failing, but they even awkwarded that one up.

i can only imagine, it just seems scary when you think that we only have 33 episodes of what was originally conceived as her final arc, and she said in interviews that she was at the very least writing themselves into a corner since they havent gotten renewed.

they can cover a lot in 33 episodes but for every episode they don't do something it feels like were just gonna get some shite 2 part finale that tries to wrap things up.

Absolutely correct. I'm really beginning to think that season 5 is going to be the last, and for every Rocknaldo, every Onion Gang, we're losing a Jailbreak. The time wasting filler feels so much more like a waste now. The stakes should be getting higher, the tension should be mounting, but it just isn't.

but yeah its been townie heavy and really light. i can honestly say i only enjoyed 3 of the episodes this season, and two of them were from the steven bomb.

closest we got to a really good character driven episode was 'mindful education' which is perhaps the best of the season.

And yeah, not many episodes have left much of an impact on me, this season has really been light on "feels" episodes that heavily develop characters for anyone besides Rose/Steven. garnets great, though i felt that she has had her major arc the way amethyst did. im always happy to learn more, i like the predictions that one of her gems will get poofed and the other has to learn to live without the other for awhile.

im thinking pearl arc is incoming more than anything though. the fusion rape arc was mostly for garnet, amethyst got her worst gem arc, its only natural that Pearl would get hers next. makes even more sense towards the end as it will have a lot to do with Rose and probably reveal some of the final secrets in the process. with that pink haired girl supposedly returning that would definitely kick it off.

id say this season barely even develops rose and steven though desu. with the exception of storm in the room its just been claiming to develop rose than doing no such thing.

Don't worry, SU is about to hit it's prime. With Adventure time finishing next year, it's signalling the end of it's generation of cartoons (AT, Gravity Falls, Regular show) and now SU will have it's time to dominate CN. each shows different. it kinda depends on the strengths of the writers and what sup with renewals.

Sucrose had the benefit of a 3 season renewal (with each being cut in half to make 5) really early on, so she was able to plan her larger arcs for the show, whereas most writers never know until close to the end of the season, making it hard for them to REALLY plan a journey, instead they focus on just what each season means and try to make it look like they're tied together.

but she also had the setback of having 52 episode seasons thrown at her at the same time, and while im sure there is some hiatus htats a LOT of individual episodes to come up wiht. its far easier to creat 26 half hour episodes than it is to 52 fifteen minute episodes, as you only need 26 ideas and can just fill in that time with jokes and action and such.

whereas with 52 fifteen minute episodes you need 52 individual ideas and struggle to fit everythign important into that time.

considering this they've still done REALLY well, but at this point it seems they ran out of juice and are nervous about the possibility of rewnewal.

sucrose basically admitted that she intended the show to end with season 3, but with the possibility of renewal shes saying that shes 'writing into a corner' for that arc.

so now she might be worried about ruining the show by building up too clsoe to the climax and then getting renewed and having to stretch 52 fillers in before the real climax, but at the same time she doesn't want to get to the end of season 5, find out shes cancelled, than have no resolution.

so really it depends on the show. right now im guessing that shes trying to wrap up twonies to be safe and setting up her final arc with the idea that the diamonds are coming to earth.

beyond that we'll have to see what the season 4 finale brings.
