>Logan survives and is nursed back to health by Yukio. In the meantime Mariko is married off to Moro, who rapes her on their wedding night. Upon learning of this, Logan forms an alliance with Elvis, an American gangster and Shingen's main rival, and provides him with information to sabotage Shingen's criminal activities. Once Elvis has succesfully dismantled Shingen's empire, Logan and Yukio attack Shingen's fortress and slaughter their men. Logan then kills Harada, while Yukio is killed by Shingen. Logan and Shingen then engage in a vicious battle that culminates with Logan killing Shingen.

>Logan then rescues Mariko from Moro, whose career is ruined when his affiliation with Shingen is revealed. Logan and Mariko retreat to a cabin in the woods and prepare for a life together when Mariko is unexpectedly killed by Zen, who has arrived with The Hand to punish Logan for his betrayal. Logan lashes out and slaughters the ninjas before challenging Zen to a duel, in which Zen is defeated and commits suicide out of shame. Before doing so, however, Zen had provided the police with evidence of Logan's affiliation to the Yashida family and his whereabouts.

>The police arrives to find Logan surrounded by dead bodies, including Mariko, and arrests him for murder. Logan then finds himself in the same place where he was before meeting Zen: A broken man haunted by his past, forgotten in prison and longing for death.

I remember this script. It was good, but a little too edgy.

>Implication that Shingen had sexual relations with Yukio whom he raised since she was a child.

This sounds super stylised but so it's hard to evaluate without watching the actual movie.

What used to be online was Michael Chabon's trippy pitch for the first X-MEN movie where he shamelessly rips off THE MATRIX, turns most of the X-Men into assholes, makes Wolverine into a wimp, features Jubilee as the "chosen one" and uses an Illuminati-esque OC secret society as villains.

Yeah, The R-Rated Wolverine has that 15-year-old fan fiction vibe going on.

Thankfully Logan is shaping up to be grim and girt done right.

The one thing that The Wolverine dis right was reducing Logan's healing factor so that there was at least vague tension, and this doesn't seem to have that at all, unless Yukio's hallucinatory poison also stalls his healing.

So this movie would have done nothing right.

It's kind of a shame the movieverse already went with the "Wolverine heals almost instantly" approach. That power always worked best when it just gave him leeway to take more risks because he doesn't have to worry AS much, but he was still definitely mortal and still had to worry about getting killed. Hell, there was a time when someone like Pyro was a legitimate threat to him.

If the edge was toned down a bit, this would have been pretty goddamn cool.
Honestly I still like what we got, even though it's admittedly kinda lackluster.

Yukio was supposed to grope a woman in a deserted subway to the point of orgasm while Logan watches and the woman silently takes it, afraid to react.
