Best Silver Surfer

Silver Surfer TAS is underrated

I recently picked up Silver Surfer: In Thy Name. I thought it was pretty good, enjoyed the somewhat bleak ending, but more importantly I realized that I've only ever read miniseries or OGNs starring ol' Silverado. What are the best ongoing Surfer runs? I guess I also read the little bit of Starlin's run collected in the Rebirth of Thanos trade.

There's the Buscema/Lee run, which was pretty good. There's also the Ron Lim run, which features several different writers like Starlin and Marz, but I never liked Lim's art, it just looks... bleh to me.

In all seriousness though i've seriously considered taking this run, and removing all the text then Marvel Method'ing up a new story based on Allred's pre-existing artwork. Wouldn't be able to do anything about Dawn, but Allred's art is too good and he is too fitting for Surfer for his run to be forever tainted by being Slott's Dr. Who fanfic

He's become lazy and self-indulgent, just like Bendis. And yes, his Silver Surfer really is just a Dr. Who fanfic, even Slott admitted to this on twitter (although I think he deleted it later)

He's been writing it for too damn long. He's been on the title for 8 years, 6 of which where he was the exclusive writer, and it shows
