Has it happened to you yet?
The year was 2000. I had just graduated high school.
Happened pretty much halfway through middle school. I did not see how anything that was popular gained that status, having grown up to that point on older media than my peers.
I was never with it, so it will never happen to me.

With Marvel comics, apparently.
Also never got into social media or smart phones.
I am now a high school teacher and I have no idea what the fuck my students are saying half the time.My jokes are considered corny and I am always pissed at the stupid shit my students say. Even though when i was in school I am pretty sure my slang was just as dumb.
I saw my 9 year old little cousin literally losing his shit over some lets play video of G mod and a ugly nigglet screaming about Shrek. It has almost 3 million views. I hated this generation since.

>ironic shitposting is now a thing
>people actually justifying freemium games
>circular modules on games for stupid reasons
>kids are still hating on MLP even though it aired for 5 years
When I first noticed I wasn't with it anymore, I was cool with that. Now I'm sort of just in some between point.
suprisingly, not yet

You know it's not like Led Zep and Floyd are any less it these days, you can buy shirts with their logos and album covers at any store, hell there's probably more merch for them available now than the entire 70s 80s and 90s combined.
