I don't know if anyone's going to be up for Wunderwaffen, honestly, given that the main series is getting official translations, as for me, I'm really burnt out on Wunderwaffen, I only read the main series because I have all along, I don't even like it, haven't read these spin-offs though.

Well, I certainly like UW1 & UW2, haven't read anything else by him. Experience Mort in particular, I didn't really like the art for.

Anyone here saw the silent movie?

Imo it was amazing, it truly was a hundred year in advance in term of movie making in comparison, even more so impressive when you understand how the special effects were literally added to the physical film rather than being edited in like in modern movies.

Worth the watch even if you never watched a silent movie before

Also its nice to see a story of the underclass vs the big boss that don't pick a side and paint the entire thing with political causes, just that the solution can only come if both side of the conflict ger their head out of their collective asses. Like how it is in real life.

Also there is the detail that it was produced during the time of the Weimar republic, which fused together the worst of both capitalism and communism while living like elites feeding upon the finest caviar (funded by the tax payer of course) while the street peoples literally starved and had to pay bread with a wheelbarrow of cash, and prostitution/crime rates were at an record high. Ain't for no reason Hitler had little to no opposition when he kicked in the Reichstag's door, the Weimar were nothing more than a occupation government put over Germany by the winning side of WW1 (both the spoken and unspoken ones), just like how the modern Iraq government is nothing more than puppets for the USA that barely do anything to protect their own citizen (most soldiers prefer wasting their salary on heroin and whores (more precisely, prepubescent boys, go read about ''Bacha bazi'') than to protect their own citizen, instead they turtle it up while tripping it out) while criminal and the like make the law, aint for no reason extremist like the Taliban are sweeping in, better these blood thirsty fool than a fool who don't care your blood being spilled.

Kind of went on a rant in the end, just that the movie was extremely spot on for the year it came out and it probably made some (((peoples))) quite uncomfortable

If you rewatch it, I can tell you of two thing:

Learn to find symbolism, no matter where it is or could be, this movie is filled to the brim with them

Learn of the old world gods like YH'WH and Ba'al (that the god that inspired that huge gaping machine maw that chew up worker in the movie, go read about it and it will become all clear to you. As a hint to their horribleness, they asked that every family sacrifice their first born in his honor, which meant throwing the baby in a burning pit inside the maw of a horrid statue, shaped in a way that the wail of the baby would sound like an unnatural growl) and how horrid they were, how the elites of back then were just as eager as modern leaders, if not more, to fools their own citizens for momentary and long term advantages, going as far as massacring their own kinsmen while disguised as enemy soldier as to promote retaliation (aka war) against said ''enemy'' (basically a false flag, even the Romans did it).

There is probably more to it than this but I haven't watched it in years, so my memory might be fuzzy.

Metropolis the film is incredible, one of the great flowers of German art post-WWI. The Nazis destroyed that too - most of the good cinema went away after they took control.

Weimar failed because it could never gain legitimacy - either from the far right or left, and because the conservative leaders were weak fools who thought they could control Hitler, and whatever he would create would be better than being ruled by Communists (They only lost half the country to the Soviets in the end, I suppose). Heidelberg sold Germany to the Nazis without realizing.

Double negatives aren't necessarily a bad thing, it's only if they're unclear. Even the 'incorrect' double negative -> isn't really bad imo, it's just an intensifier effectively. It's not even new, Oliver Cromwell quoted someone's dying words as being an 'incorrect' double negative. And I suppose this would be a 'correct' double negative -> positive situation.
