I know it's bait, but whoever said that simply does not realize what TMNT started as.

It's funny that while a lot of 80s and 90s things are often reimagined as darker and edgier, it's literally impossible with TMNT. You can't get much edgier than the original comic.

They did find the bod and held a burial for him. And also Splinter was giving hints that he's about to die throughout the episode.

Is that why he let the team split up and fall for an obvious trap? He just kind of knew? I thought the "Listen to your heart, Leo..." when they argued about if they should split up was pretty dumb because yeah, both my head and heart would say we shouldn't fall for this obvious trap.

If you bring back character from the dead and then kill them again (after only 11 episodes mind you), it's kind of hard to take the death seriously.
