Haggar and Thor do just fine in 3. You can work with Nemesis with the right team too. You just have to design them right. Just putting Gief in a game like Marvel isn't going to work unless you change him a lot, and Marvel 1 and 2 did okay at that, but not by a lot.

Donovan was a character whose basic zoning concepts were so strong that they had to continuously keep nerfing him over and over again up until the final release of Darkstalkers 2. So if you just took him the way he originally was during production, pre-nerfs, he'd probably be perfect for Marvel.

Pic related, this is what his Blizzard Sword special was originally like. And it was so OP that they had to completely redo the move's functions, in the process actually losing the entire "Sword" itself form the whole damn move.
