What y'all think of those old Ralph Bakshi animated films?

jewish guy trying to be black, nice fapfuel though
>>
A guy makes a few movies on less than shoe string budgets. The first two had ok success. The third garnered a lot of controversy and every movie going forward results in studio executives breathing down his neck and keeping his budget low.

He was a guy trying something different with what he had available at a time when theatrical animation was on its way out. He hated using rotoscoping and used it only because of his supper low budget.

I only like American Pop, because he has such good taste in music.
As for the Lord of the Rings, I only saw a few scenes on youtube, it was definitely not my cup of tea.

Accurate

Well I'm an idiot, I thought rotoscoping was more expensive. I guess that makes his LotR a lot cheaper than I thought
>>
>>90193418
Rotoscoping is generally cheaper, though like anything else the quality is really dependent on how much effort is put into it.

The reason why Wizards had so much extra cheap rotoscoping in it was because it was the only thing Bakshi could afford to actually get it all done.

Between hiring actors for rotoscoping and drawing over stock footage Ralph cut a lot of corners. The studio execs were extremely watchful over budget spending.

If I'm not mistaken it coincided with a change of attitudes in Hollywood. As directors were prone to go way over budget for a lot films. Apocalypse Now is an example of this.

He has some kind of obsession with black people, you know that kind of self-loathed obsession baby boomers have with them to fit good in the edgy young rebellion.
>>
>>90193593
In his defence he grew up around Blacks in a Black neighbourhood early in life. He even attended a black only school due to the circumstances as well.

Good until he went Full Retard in the 80s and started rotoscoping the shit out of everything, making his films look clumsy and awful.

Then he did Cool World and that was so bad it is certainly justified in ending his career.

Well at least he's not a SJW, he grew up on black areas during the 40's and 50's, the ghetto shit had not started during those times.
Also it's more obvious on the beginning of that Fritz the cat movie.

Amen. When he released Coonskin he called out Al Sharpton for being the conman against the black community that he is.

Anyone went to see "Montage of Heck" here?
The film has some cool animated scenes, and those reminded me of the vibe of American Pop alot, probably due to rotoscoping.
Although the director guy seemed not to know American Pop.
