Do you really think they would've fought right there in that room? Or inside the helicarrier at all? This was a "Take it outside" set-up, where Tony could then use his maneuverability and weapons to full effect.

Now, his suit was still pretty fucked up from his fight with Thor, so odds are still split on who could have actually won.

Besides, as of the showing in this film, the armor Tony was wearing hear survived a punch up with Thor and getting caught in the helicarrier's turbines. It seems more durable than whatever he was wearing in Civil War.

Not all armors are equal, after all.
