Aside from Brendan Cahill, Jack Lawrence is at the very least better than any of MTMTE's fill-in artists. But the return to the Functionist Universe is HUGELY disappointing to not have Milne on art for. "The Custom Made Now" was easily my favorite issue of MTMTE season 2. It was the only time the entire season managed to convey the same weight as season 1.

I'm mostly a casual TF fan these days but the phole IDW phenomenon is so bizzare to me.
Not the books themselves they have a typical TF ration of good to decent to shit but the weird tribalism about it.
Usually when a TF thing comes it has it's own set of fans, mostly old fags with some new kids that come in, and that set of fans declare it the best thing ever and they religiously defend it from the hate that gets thrown at it. But with IDW is the opposite, EVERYONE in the TF fandom hates the fuck out of them, all of its fanbase is mostly new people to who this is their first TF thing ever, none of them interact with the fandom at large, are convinced that IDW is the biggest piece of TF out there and all of the drama and fighting is happening inside the IDW fanbase.
It's completely unlike the fandom wars of the past.

As someone who has been following the comics since DW to IDW TF, it probably has a lot to do with how vastly different MTMTE started off. Everything else previous was pretty much the same cookie-cut theme. Nothing was brought attention to the minor things like relationships, the culture, or how the whole birth of metal aliens into detail like how Roberts did it. So you pretty much got-

I am guessing a lot of emotions, like he probably thinks she was just using him to go sightseeing and that she thinks he's a monster who will never belong so he might be feeling some emotional pain for that.
Another part of him probably agrees with her.
I don't think Marissa thinks TC is a monster and she doesn't pile him up with the rest of the Cybertronians, she pretty much already confessed to him that she cares about him too and she's just spending what she thinks are her last moments with him and Buster since she cares about them a lot.
She just doesn't trust Optimus and the others, she witnessed firsthand the whole Hail Megatron incident she probably thinks everything is going to the crapper and she's just tired of it.

I think Micronauts wins most people over by the second issue since the first is a little slow.
ROM is also fantastic and moves quickly which is mostly thanks to ROM having little to say to his enemies and absolutely lacking in mercy when it comes to slaying them- a habit which irritates the Cybertronians and got them into a lot of trouble).
The new G.I Joe feels really original, it feels like a sci-fi action team or something as opposed to soldiers being bland and doing super secret soldier stuff. That and Skywarp is there. I like it a lot.

Well you've given me a weird mental image of Rewind and Chromedome walking by an open door only to witness Tailgate shouting, "Stop fisting yourself, stop fisting yourself!" as he rams Cyclonus with his own ripped off arm.

I'm leaning towards this idea that it turns out Killmaster never actually killed anyone, whereupon he not only is no longer worthy of nemesishood but Whirl easily kills him. Turns out he just couldn't defeat Killmaster because psychologically he didn't really want to destroy his nemesis. Still took credit when the guy vanished, of course. More hilarious might be Killmaster demanding to join them and Whirl teaching him to kill so that he may be worthy of Whirl's hate again.

So I just started watching Rescue Bots and its waaaay better than I thought it would be. Its writing and character development is pretty solid (I'm actually really enjoying it without any cons being present at all).

You're missing some fun but if your interest is only giant robots, I guess for Revolutionaries just stay for the upcoming Heart of Steel focused story (which will be in next issue I believe) since it will have loads of giant Robots (and Cobra Commander).
Otherwise only stay if you love Kup.
As for the other titles? GI Joe it's actually different from the mostly military focus comics of the past (the writer seems to be steering away from that since it's overdone and if you hated that then good news this one is different) and it's been one big sci fi adventure team. Skywarp is there for a few pages/panels but it looks like he will have a bigger role in the future since it looks like the Joes will be fighting giant monsters and he'll come in handy for that.
ROM is good too but your mileage may vary I know people who like it and people who don't but I suggest just read from when revolutionanon's storytimes or look in the archives.
MASK is awful, avoid it.
Also just read the titles from their #1s you don't really need to read anything prior to that.
