Like I said, I loved all of it, but Blackest Night wasn't as strong as SCW. Sure, it was larger, with higher stakes and ramifications for everyone, but it came down to a space zombie story with tons of fanservice, while SCW started Sinestro on the path of not only being an enemy, but an ideological force. Not to mention his keikaku.

It felt a lot more tense, and again, the reveal of the fucking Anti-Monitor, appering again for the first time (I think) since Crisis, was such a shock that even bringing every dead hero and villain back didn't surpass it.

I personally find the fact that many of his rants were technically true to be interesting. Take him slaughtering the Teen Titans for instance. He's ranting about how reality is all wrong and making him do this and it's technically true. Just like how good winning over evil is an actual law of the universe in earth 0/1/etc Prime was used to a universe where he couldn't accidentally kill everyone like they were made out of wet paper bags but the laws of physics were entirely different now.

OK, so, the facts:

Mystery Kent
-Tests show he's 100% human, has genuine memories, and is vulnerable enough to break an arm.
-Is childish, awkward, petty, and uses outdated expressions.
-Seems genuinely certain that he should have what belongs to Clark Kent, like the love of Lois.
-Seems to have some control over machines, or at least the means to control a car without a driver.
-In this issue, he seems to have recovered lost memories, suggesting some sort of manipulation of his mind by a third party.

So who is he?

Prime
Pros:
-Super childish, awkward and petty.
-He was first published long enough ago that outdated lingo would make sense; however, this hasn't been a trait of Prime so far in other books.
-Grew up reading Superman comics, lived for an eternity with an old Superman and Lois, watched Post-Crisis Superman and Lois fall in love and get married; he feels Superman's life should be his, and has already tried to replace him in the past. It makes sense that, despite his love interest being Laurie originally, he would want Lois.
-Mystery Kent accuses people of "RUINING" things for him; this is pretty much Prime's catchphrase.
-Upcoming cover shows Mystery Kent with a bloody Superman logo; Prime carved the logo on his chest.

Cons:
-He shouldn't be human (unless what's mentioned earlier in the thread about having become human at some point when he was the Time Trapper), shouldn't be able to break an arm or have genuine memories of this world (unless he's been tampered with by a third party. This would also explain Mystery Kent recovering memories in this issue).
-Has no means to control a car without a driver.
-Couldn't hear Lois talking, while standing outside her apartment. This should be easy for Prime's super-hearing, unless he's depowered for some reason.

Cyborg-Superman (pre-flashpoint)
Pros:
-Has impersonated Superman in the past, so he can fake behaviors.
-His control over machines could let him easily fake all the tests, even the broken arm.
-He could control a car without a driver.

Cons:
-He's not childish and shouldn't have weird tastes in food.
-He has never cared about the love of Lois.
-If he's faking the tests intentionally, he knows who he is and has duplicitous intentions; this doesn't match up with Mystery Kent's internal monologue.
-If he's faking the tests intentionally, he's not depowered, and like Prime, he should have been able to hear Lois talking in her apartment.
-In the same line of thought, he shouldn't have missing memories to recover in this issue.
-This world's Hank Henshaw is around, and will become a Cyborg Superman. There's also Supergirl's dad, another Cyborg Superman. It's unlikely they'd have 3 Cyborg Supermen running around.

That actually could make sense. After this issue my working theory is that whoever fakeClark is, he made a deal with someone (Mr. Oz/Dr. Manhattan most likely) to have Clark Kent's life. Some reality bender made him human and gave him his memories and, up until now, he genuinely believed he was the real Clark Kent. But either Mr. Oz betrayed him, or more likely Superdad is some kind of anomaly outside of Oz's control. Seeing Lois with her family broke fake Clark's fake memories.

So as far as "Someone who would wish to have Clark Kent's life", Prime fits, but so does Flashpoint Kal-El.

That Battle Armor first appeared in an old origin of Krypton comic pre-crisis and then once again when Superman was fighting Dominus who was an enemy of Kismet.

Dominus has minimal reality warping powers that only work on those who are awake and the armor let's you fight while your body is asleep, this prevented Dominus from affecting Superman's reality and that's how he won that particular battle.

It's a fun arc I suggest reading it.

Yes? Remember he was kidnapped from Superman after he almost died from a similar accident to the one that gave him his powers. Superman was pretty much running tests and trying to prevent him from ending up like his old pre new 52 self. Eventually after some mess with the telepath that showed up a few pages later he let him go but the government are curious as to where the fuck he was being held for so long so they had him join a team investigating Superman.
