BUG!: THE ADVENTURES OF FORAGER #1
Written by LEE ALLRED • Art and cover by MICHAEL ALLRED • Variant cover by JAMES HARVEY • Variant cover by PAUL POPE
Retailers: This issue will ship with three covers. Please see the order form for details.
An all-new Young Animal miniseries begins! Forager is just one of the Hive before he breaks out of his cocoon and finds himself in a mysterious house in an unknown realm. There he meets all kinds of strange creatures: a ghostly girl, a talking teddy bear and otherworldly weirdos that have literally jumped out of his worst nightmares. But these interdimensional oddballs are nothing compared to the evil General Electric, who is on the hunt for a reality-bending metal that could alter the fabric of life itself. To stay one step ahead of him and preserve the multiverse, Forager must travel through alternate dimensions to seek the metal and, hopefully, catch up with that cagey stuffed bear. If he does it, will he finally be able to distinguish himself as a New God?
DC’s Young Animal celebrates Jack Kirby’s centenary with this new six-issue miniseries—and who better to tackle this task than the Eisner Award-winning Allred clan! Featuring scripts by Lee Allred (BATMAN ’66), art by Michael Allred (Silver Surfer) and colors by Laura Allred (Lady Killer), BUG! is truly a family affair.

DARK NIGHT: A TRUE BATMAN STORY TP
Written by PAUL DINI • Art and cover by EDUARDO RISSO
The Caped Crusader has been an icon of justice and authority for generations. But in this surprising original graphic novel, now in trade paperback for the first time, we see Batman in a new light—as the savior who helps a discouraged man recover from a brutal attack that left him unable to face the world.
In the 1990s, Eisner Award-winning writer Paul Dini had a flourishing career writing the hugely popular Batman: The Animated Series and Tiny Toon Adventures. Walking home one evening, he was jumped and viciously beaten to within an inch of his life. His recovery process was arduous, hampered by the imagined antics of the villains he was writing for television, including The Joker, Harley Quinn and the Penguin. But Dini also always imagined the Batman at his side during his darkest moments.
DARK NIGHT: A TRUE BATMAN STORY is the harrowing and eloquent autobiographical tale of Dini’s courageous struggle to overcome a desperate situation. It is a Batman story like none other and one that will truly resonate with fans, with art by Eduardo Risso (100 BULLETS).

Not what I'd call and educated guess. Considering Rebirth is bulilt upon the Watchmen event, there's a corssvoer between Batman and Flash taht are building toward it, a corssvoer between titans, Teen Titans and Deathstroke and they just finished a big crossover event in Justice League vs Suicide Squad, well... le's just say your assumptions are...not well thought out.

I want good comics, not boring rehashed shit like returning Green Arrow to Star City because it's "the iconic" city or some shit. I want new exciting talent, not Jurgens, Lobdell, Williamson and Humphries shitting up the company.

>Isn't Bunn writing an issue? People were excited by the idea that Manapul might have been booted for his politics

I've heard things about how Manapul won't be doing an arc or something because the arc he'd done was political or something (possibly written/drawn before Trump won the election and satirised the idea of that but then he won, who knows?) But I was worried he was no longer going to be involved in the book, which meant I possibly would have dropped it.

Personally I have quite far left/anti-authoritarian politics and don't actually mind politics in my comics; which isn't to say I enjoy pandering. Cape comics were political from their inception (Superman fighting slum-lords, Captain fucking America before the USA had joined the war).

But that's just me. And I also very much enjoy lots of stories which aren't political in the slightest too.
>>

Future Quest is "ending" at #12 as well. Although Parker said that it's not really ending, just the end of their first big story. I'd guess this means that maybe while the Future Quest book is ending it'll probably relaunch under some other name.

Russell is going to do a Snagglepuss book next. I'm thinking/hoping that eventually we'll see the Flintstones again since it seems like they really are building a Hanna-Barbera connected universe.

They should just give Valentine a Cass solo comic with Stephanie as a supporting character. It would sell more than Barbara's.

Fuck. I will have to buy this.
>>
>>90117271
wasn't Hurt tied to Gotham? why would he care about Bludhaven. Blackfire makes more sense
>>
>>90117461
hurt just wants to fuck with bruce at the end of the day so trying to kill nightwing kinda makes sense
>>
>No word on if Bamtan - Night of the Monster Men and the DC Rebirth Special will be getting TPB releases.
Suffering.
>>
>>90116014
It's only the fourth issue
>>
>>90117461
Hurt has drugmarket everywhere as crime boss Al Penitinte (or like this), Blackfire ties to Gotham more than Hurt

>>90117383
I think it`s Hurt.
Snyder teased Deacon for other book, tho, in interview and Magpie and King Tut for All Star, if i `member correct
>>
>>90115402

Jurgens has been playing a very slow burn in bringing Henshaw back as the Cyborg Superman. It started in the Lois & Clark mini last year. Then about a month ago, we were teased the old Cyborg Superman.

Then two weeks ago Henshaw showed up at the end of Action (about to raid the Fortress) and in Supergirl (investigating the remains of the Kryptonian city).

Zor-El version is still around but the arc with him on Supergirl just dragged on and on.
>>
>>90117528
They confirmed awhile back that the mini-events like Monster Men would be published together in one collected trade and not separated or even put in their respective title books for consistency.

HELL YEAH
>>
>>90117507
>>90117554
Maybe I am confusing things, I remember all of Hurt's occult stuff being centered on Gotham
>>
>>90117592
Oh, no, I know that, I just mean that if they're going to get a TPB release since both the Rebirth Special and Monster Men are releasing in/have in Hardcover first with no word about paper.
>>
>>90114901
What interview did Priest say that in?

RosexDick could have had a lot of fun story potential because of the Slade connection, but Dick already has too many love interests. So it would never have gotten any development probably.

holy shit thank you anon, you've made my day.

You got a link to the interview on chance?

>>90117643
they were, but he still orchestrated stuff win other areas (like the murder mystery arc with the Batmen of the world).

the double shipping books going monthly is gonna shock you
>>
I am quite peeved DC decided to bump their prices by a dollar because "Digital Code". If I bought the floppy why would I want another copy of it. Hope it goes away after a few months
>>90115676
The Logic there was the Gauntlet was too powerful for anyone else to wield but yeah pretty dumb.
>>
>>90118380
Some people get both. I usually buy floppies digitally and then trades physically. I wish DC would go POD with all titles they've published.
>>
>>90117898
cant find it but thanks anyway, did find something saying snyder may use kite-man somepoint
>>
>>90118434
>Some people get both
Yeah but they have a choice on the matter and a dollar price increase isnt alot but I get 4 monthly pulls, shit stacks. Ill probably just sell/giveaway the codes.

>>90112177
Im pretty excited for this issue.
>>
>>90118380
I kinda hope there's more to Hal's "past decision he regrets" than just leaving the gauntlet laying around, but at the same time that would be hilarious
>>
>>90115054
I bet you're one of those Priestfags. Abnett is also a good writer.
>>
>>90118561
That's also what a lot of individuals have done with Marvel's digital codes; buy your floppy, list the digital code on eBay. I think it's a nice idea, personally, from DC, since everything seems to be "Buy Physical, Get Digital Copy Too" anymore. Nut I understand how $4 bucks for something you don't want could be annoying.
>>
>>90118563
It's on the cover so there's no other "decision". I just hope Vendetti doesn't forget that the gauntlet is mentally taxing and not just anyone can up and grab it.

>>90118684
I think ebay gets a fraction on what you sell, I'll probably just give it away not worth the hassle, the price bump starts at march right? It is nice but I personally fail to see the point of a "Legal" digital copy since you can just download the cbr, even then I usually get the book of what I read since nothing beats laying on bed with some comics.
>>
>>90118684
>>90118561
I think the best option is selling them on Reddit.
>>
>>90118524
Heh
>>
>>90118793
Yeah someone told me to list it on /r/comiccodes (?) but I'd rather give it away for free than go to reddit
>>

Abnett is mediocre
>>
>>90119416
which one of your favorite characters he wrote in a way that made you upset, kiddo?

None? He's pumping out dull books. He is Jurgens reborn
>>
>>90111752

>>90116105

Gotham Girl is almost fucking vegetable. Harper was some obnoxious cunt who was super awesome at everything
>>
>>90119995
bait
she sucked at combat and the only skill she had was some electrical engineering because of her job

also if that annoys you I hope you hate Steph and other characters too

>>
>>90118955
Y?
>>
>>90112390

So the plan for Nightwing is to switch back and forth between Bludhaven and world trotting ?
>>
>>90120266
which means nothing, she had the potential to be trained and be turned in the perfect partner (aka someone that would obey Batman and do everything he wanted unlike the Robins who disobeyed often) but she squandered it

also name me one of the bat-members who isn't a fucking absurd prodigy
>>
>>90114676
>20 issues and we still havent gotten a GL crossover

That's a good thing in my book. Johns' run was bloated with crossovers and it's nice to just have each book have it's own story.
>>
They didn't solicit the Looney Tunes crossovers, did they? Guess those will happen in June?
>>
>>90120474

Same here. We have enough crossovers happening this month with The Button, Lazarus Contract and what's happening at Marvel
>>
>>90120489

They only just teased them so June at the earliest I'd say
>>
>>90116785
so two of the main places to discuss comics are some of the places that discuss? Where the fuck else do you expect people to like it?

I do hope the other arcs aren't Jon and Demon Spawn against a villain in their age/size/mental capacity range ONLY

>>90112550

It's a two issue arc for Justice League - part one and Part Finale. How hard can it be to do two issues?
>>
>>90111885

Damian taking over the league. Especially since Jon is Superman in Beyond.
