The only TMNT that most people care about is a show on Nick now and that's the Spongebob network, most people don't even know comics, I mean in general not just TMNT, are even made any more. Hell when it comes to TMNT more people know about the Bayturtles more than the Nick show.

Bucky probably could compete with the Nick show provided it was on a network that actually gave a damn about showing it at a reasonable time. However the options for a cartoon on TV is Nick, which I've already explained, the Teen Titans GO Network, and I guess Disney's channels. I guess there's always Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.

They also ended up bursting their own bubble, twice. TMNT's endless imitators in the comics ended up nearly killing the independent comics scene of the 80's. In the 90's, the various knockoff franchises with their own cartoons and toylines also led to fatigue, which ended up hurting TMNT itself and led to its sharp decline. Since none of the knockoffs could ever really standout, they ended up killing themselves off, too.

Anyone have scans or know where to get scans of the UK Bucky O'Hare books? There's 20 issues and they continue off right where the American book was canceled and left unfinished on Issue 5.

It wasn't just because of Air Marshall. Hasbro even packed the figures in each box shipped to stores. So there was like one Bucky figure in each box. Meaning store isles quickly looked like Star Wars Black Series, with all the good figures snapped up and only Finn's and Zuvio's to litter the shelf. So obviously kids bought up all the Bucky's and cooler characters they could find, leaving less interesting characters to shelf warm. And Air Marshall was the shelf warmer they had trouble moving.

They actually planned three waves of figures and even more vehicles, including a Rightious Indignation play-set. Jenny herself was also finished and even carded, initially planning to release her for wave 1, but held back so there'd be something interesting in wave 2.

So what Bucky figures did anyone have as a kid? I had Blinky and Toadborg myself. The show was canceled and the line dead before I could get my family to buy me any more of the figures. The show was pretty much, blink and you missed it at the time. I probably caught every episode at the time, but I don't even recall there being any re-runs of the show. It was just simply gone. Though I did see the arcade game a few years later in a Ceasar Land around maybe 1996 or '97 when I was a bit older. I remember the period just because of all the arcade games that were there at the time.

I just asked a few posts up for scans. There's only 5 US issues and the 6th was never printed here. However Issues 1-6 were printed in the UK and the UK comic went on 20 issues. There's also an old graphic novel that contained a shorter version of those first 6 comics that averages out around 52 pages. There's also another graphic novel that I haven't even seen, which I think contains the first 8 comics and that's it.

BFS half asses everything for these kind of projects. Bucky, a Storm Toad, and maybe.. just maybe a third character which can mostly be repainted/barely retooled into a new figure for Wave 2.

The figures will be $30+ easily. You can only order the from the Boss Fight store which is super SUPER slow on shipping (we're talking 4 to 6 weeks when they're doing good). BBTS will get a shipment of them at some point well after the sales have slowed down which people will order from instead of BFS for a small premium.

Boss Fight will let the line limp into a second wave pushed a year later before giving up because sales are so bad. Wave 2 will be more or less repaints than completely new figures.
