I don't have the one with the donut in it on me but you can treat it that way if you like.
How do I translate a female pointy chin from front view to side view without it looking masculine?
I've been working on fanfics. Do those count?
>>90082121
Sure why not. Post 'em. I could go for some easy reading.
>>90082160
Here's a quick Gravity Falls one. I'd be interested in knowing what you think
http://archiveofourown.org/works/9802166
>>90081940
Post the character you're drawing but a pointed chin that doesn't jut out too prominantly typically reads as feminine. Also I guess reference other images of females you'd like to emulate.
Got some things i've done over the past week.
While these are done, i'd appreciate any criticism for moving forward.
Been doing a little bit of drawing over the weekend. Might as well post a few things that I did.

>>90082554
And the last one for now, finished it late last night.
>>90082302
Here. 3/4 neck looks pretty shit here but it isn't really relevant to what I'm asking.
Drew this nasty gent a week ago.
Recent li'l somethin'. Rich, bratty (but mostly nice) gal named Rachel. She has a thing for 40s/50s fashion, or at least what she assumes is 40s/50s fashion. She also really likes watches.
I've been getting a lot more comfortable with my lineart lately. It's by no means perfect, but it's a far cry better than I used to be, so much so that I've actually been confident enough to do lineart rather than sculpting out a sketch.
I've been trying to make quicker strokes for curves rather than try to be all slow and "perfect," since that just never works. I've also been trying to use more of my arm rather than just my wrist. These two things make a bigger difference than I thought they would. I'm still in that "undo, stroke, undo, stroke" phase, but I'm at least ending up with lines I'm happy with rather than settling with "ugh, whatever, fuck it. That'll do."
>>90082490
Dem some fingies right there. A little far spread, but well-detailed.
I like the shirt's texture. Was never able to get that simple pattern down, myself.
>>90083974
wow, this looks pretty clean. Good job on the colors and lineart.
Any plans for what to do with Rachel or is she just a character to do like...pinups.
>>90085077
Thank you!
She's a character in a comic I do, actually. She's not quite as prominent of a character as I wish she was, though. But then, I think that about a lot of my characters. Word of advice: Never create 16+ characters in a comic if you love each and every one of them. Most of them have to take a back seat 90% of the time.
Sketch of a character I was thinking up this morning. Forgive the autism, but this is the little paragraph the I had to accompany the picture:
>She’s an assassin with supposed ties to otherworld spirits; rumor is that they steal away any sound she makes, save for her laughter…and as such, she takes a vindictive joy in her work.
Still working with the design a little, but not too dissatisfied with it so far.
ever since I moved to digital I hate drawing traditionally
I haven't drawn anything lately but I'm about to start taking commissions soon.
Anyone have any advice I should know before hand about working with clients and all that?
>>90088222
Typically ask for payment up front, or at least after presenting the draft sketch.
If you're using Paypal, use invoices (Top of account pages, Send & Request, Create Invoice). Avoids the client or Paypal making a mistake and giving you legit legal troubles. I'm serious about that, Paypal is a bitch about very precise rules or something and some artists have been sued over mere pennies.
>>90088720
Not that anon, but I tend to ask for payment after I finish a sketch or whatever. I dunno. I guess I trust people to not rip me off more than I trust myself to not become incredibly lazy and never finish it.
working on making my backgrounds more interesting atm
Gestal, a formerly human child who was interested in the dying art of magic. She accidentally killed her brother when a spell caught her house on fire. She was cursed by her mother to become a beastperson and kicked out of the kingdom. She was found and raised a masked man named Ozwald. He was world traveled with a dark sense of humor but ultimately friendly.
Once she's an adult, she goes off on her own, only to discover the world's not kind to beastpeople. Ozwald watches over her from the shadows and gives her supplies every week, but when he disappears, she makes it her mission to find him.
Gestal is good natured but is no upstanding hero. She fears conflict and does her best to keep to herself. She wouldn't dream of committing theft but if she saw a robbery in progress, she would try to get away safely instead of trying to stop it. This fear stems from her guilt over killing her brother, as her beast form has also made her physically powerful, and she's terrified of hurting others in this state. (She also accidentally killed a wolf as a child, which Ozwald tried to assure her was okay because it was self defense, but she still feels guilty about it)
Her gun does not shoot bullets, but rather mild poisons that numb whatever limb they hit. She makes these herself (a technique she learned from Ozwald) and regularly uses them on her own body so she understands the power behind them.
>>90090926
oops, forgot to mention; by "dying art of magic" I mean that the universe has a sort of 1900s aesthetic and technology has effectively made magic obsolete, though it still exists in some respects like the curses that make beastpeople like Gestal.
This isn't much, just a character I designed for another thread based on an Anon's post.
The premise of the character is: she died and became a ghost while her body became a zombie.
>>90092164
And here's a follow up I did for the same thread.I guess she's British.
>>90083691
Have you posted in these threads before? This style seems very familiar. I really like.
>>90086622
I'm very back and forth with that. Sometimes I do better with digital, sometimes I do better with traditional.
Your art still looks good though.
>>90081886
Don't have to worry about me, Batman. 51st day in the year and I've finished 45 drawings.last year my total was 311 finished drawings in 365 days

>>90092586
>procrastinating
I'd say that's more like "taking a break" in your case.
>>90092551
>Have you posted in these threads before? This style seems very familiar. I really like.
Yeah, I've posted several times in the past. All of it related to characters in my ongoing comic, usually just character sheets.
I've been working on a new issue lately though.(In my narrative illustration class for a grade, lol.)
Only have two pages inked atm though. Gotta find the time to ink more of them amidst my other academic obligations.
>>90092164
>>90092200
Oh hey, I saw her in the ghost thread earlier today. Nifty idea actually! I originally saw her in your second sketch when I was lurking that thread. Thought she was a conjoined twin, lol. However, I find the idea of a ghost possessing her own body and treating it like a buddy to be far more imaginative.
Do you plan to do more with her?
>>90092967
>Do you plan to do more with her?
I may draw more, though I haven't really gone that far with her.
I was considering having her name in life be Annemarie, so after she dies the ghost goes by Anne and the zombie goes by Marie.
>>90082573
One last one I got done today.
>>90093135
I had assumed she was a "spur of the moment"-esque creation since ideas were being thrown around in the thread. It's rather nice you wanna do more with her though. It'd give her more purpose as a character imo. Especially if you were to develop the cause of her zombification/ghostliness.
>I was considering having her name in life be Annemarie, so after she dies the ghost goes by Anne and the zombie goes by Marie.
Haha. That's adorable. Simple, but it works well with her theme.
>>90086622
You're the fella who's posted those framed images in the previous threads if I'm not mistaken. Really enjoy the way you use hard lines and shadow. It gives your style a nice visual comparison to Mike Mignola's Hellboy.I swear, I once saw you post in the /x/ OC threads. Maybe I'm just mistaken though.
>>90088222
Does that guy at the bottom have eyes for nipples?Nice!
Did this a couple of days ago. Currently doing a close-up shot from a different angle.
Planning to use this stuff as animation BGs.
Watercolored this shit
can I get some opinions on this? Something about the backgrounds seem off, I tried emulating the brush stroke textures in the actual show, but I feel like I failed somewhere
anyone who uses Clip Studio Paint know of any good brushes for that sort of thing?
>>90096185
Background looks fine to me, maybe make the fire stand out more and add more of a shadow effect. Also Jack's nose could be a little longer. But it's still real good.
>>90096185
It's the lines on the trees famalam
Something looks off with the lines
>>90096185
I'm not an expert but I think that having the trees a slightly different hue than the grass might make the colors seem more balanced. overall I think it looks fine though
also I love you for that filename
>>90096415
anything specific? Maybe their colors?

Working on a sonic parody with a fairly famous youtube channel.
Here's a painting I've been working on.
>>90105342
A character sheet too.
>>90082454
Neat design, I like how gestural it is.
>>90105406
And another sheet...it might look familiar, but I did end up redoing some parts of this, specifically the poses on the left and right.
My style has been a weird spot lately since I'm trying to draw more stylistically but I'm having a hard time simplifying things since I'm used to doing more realistic proportions. I think it's time to do anatomy studies again.
>>90095619
Yeah, I like the texture on this too. Is the bg going to be animated or is it going to be use for a scene? I'm interested to see what you come up with.
>>90098831
The expressions can be pushed more, since it's not reading very well. Same can go for the poses, they both look very stiff.
Also, find your light source and stick with it! I think I know where the light is coming from, but some of the shadows feel too randomly placed.
I do like the style for this though, it reminds me of an illustration from a book I used to read as a kid (or something from a cartoon I used to watch, can't remember what it is though).
>>90092164
>>90092200
I did a doodle for that thread too. My thing was that she slipped and died in the shower, which is why the zombie is wet and naked.
>>90083615
keep the jaw rounded instead of squared and dont have the chin too long
though you have mant other things to work on as well, your head lacks a cranium and you need to be more consistant

>>90114568
While this is very well rendered and is pretty on model for an eye, you don't have a lot of depth to it.
That bottom eye doesn't look circular, it looks flat. You should think of the eye itself more like a sphere with another curved surface sitting on top of it.
It's also worth mentioning that often times the eye ball will contort slightly depending on the position of the iris, because the iris does protrude just a little.
Drew this the other night.

Yesterday I ragequitted a painting I was doing and went to bed really, really mad at myself.

>>90125870
I don't wanna steer you wrong because because I don't know anything about composition. But this doesn't come off as creepy to me. With that said I think the colors are perfect and the art is great as well. Maybe a slight gradience in the sky might make make a difference.
>>90081886
something i started the other day.
>>90125870
maybe sky is too bright
>>90125870
sky is not dark enough, and you need to deepen some of the colors. When going for a creepy ambiance, I find it best to either go for a washed out color scheme or one that's really dark and deep. Push the cool colors a little more and it wouldn't hurt to make some of the light areas, such as the window, a little more pale to get some contrast going on.

Okay, serious question:
For a while I've been jumping back and forth between two different kinds of outlines in my art. I wouldn't say either look spectacular, and I'm a little limited on what I can do at the moment, but among the two which style would you guys say looks better?

That thumb on the guy lying down looks like it's facing his foot, or like his palm's facing the same direction as his sole, though I'd intended it to look like his thumb was angled towards his head, like someone with their hands out.

A boy falls in love with a girl. He is mysteriously gifted with her phone number. He calls her and finds out that she likes him as well. But the next day, she doesn't remember the confession. The girl he called is not the same girl he fell in love with. In fact, she doesn’t exist in this universe at all. She is the girl’s alternate universe counterpart, who likes his own alternate self. Hijinks ensue as the two tell each other their darkest secrets to conquer the hearts of their other selves.

Some stuff from the comic I am working on

False advertising. At least post what the webcomic actually looks like.
>>90186181
This. Write threads are better at this in respect.
You should try >>>/ic/ , even though they are more into traditional art than cartoon.
>>90188584
That's Kimi no na wa. Has nothing to do with Keit-ai.
>>90188584

Threadly reminder that it has been made into a wiki, a fanfic, a fictionpress story, a manga, a meme, a TV tropes entry, an anime preview, an anime episode, an honest-to-goodness anime movie that's Oscar considered, and a critically acclaimed box office success that's the highest grossing anime film of all time and approved by Shinzo Abe and Cool Japan, so stop talking about it.

yo bump
I made this with easytoon
>>90189471
Yes, it was meant for >>90185612 and >>90184643
>>90192116
What kind of advice do you need? Instead of saying "I HATE THIS FOR NO REASON AND EVERYBODY IS DUMB".
>>90106191
There's a local story in my town of a naked ghost. A young woman killed herself in one of the rooms of a hotel here, and people are said to have seen a nude girl standing out on the balcony or by the bed
>>90174548
I like the personality range a lot. Tallow's face there is cute as hell.
But please tell me one day we're going to see Clairenaked
>>90191595
I like it.
bumpalupagus
Had some downtime to draw a couple of random creatures while doing volunteer work today.
>>90194947
Last one. He's either having an existential crisis or realized just how nonsensical his entire anatomy really is.
i got a job drawing 4 panel facebook comics for a tv station,so i have to draw this edgy willy wonka multiple times during the dayim getting tired of drawing this guy, it was created by my boss but is all i have to show for now
hopefully when i get some free time ill finish some drawings of my own characters and post them here
and here is another one i remove the text on these because i don't want to translate the jokesi change the style depending on the quality of the joke they want me to draw, i don't like fart jokes,
>>90196088
Thank you!
>>90192529
No nudes, but I did just finish reworking her design! Old on the left, new on the right!
>>90196057
That's really rad
>>90194803
Anotha one
>>90198148
She seems less savage looking, more fitting with the rest of your OCs now. I always thought Claire didn't quiiite seem to fit with the others before.
Is the headband like a little tribal indian band, or a streak of coloured hair?
Keep up that rad art draw anon
Pseudo-innocent boy, really likes puppets, don't accept his offers for handshakes.
>>90149775
Something about him reminds me of dudley from street fighter
Does your character have any story?
>>90092551
Christ, I haven't checked this thread in days, glad to see it still active, to andwer both you and >>90093408 yeah i've been around before, though I only posted on the /x/ drawtheeads once or twice before
Repostin a bit of an older drawing while I work on some new stuff
>>90198148
if you make her thick you lose the skinny axehandle physique which i enjoyed
Trying to tippy toe into new style so yeah.
Some concepts of characters for my next animation.
>>90205606
>>90203959
THANK YOU HUNGRY SKELETON
>>90205635
I have some more if you guys wanna see those too, but I don't wanna spam the thread or anything if you guys hate it.
>>90205586
hold on. i think ive seen this guy before.i cant put my finger on it thoug
>>90205683
Yeah, I noticed that while designing him so i decided to have the main character poke fun about that a little bit.
I mean, It's not like he's a major character or anything.
>>90205635
Wait, what?
Dewd this one actually looks nice, now just remember the proportions of this charcter and try to use them with the others
Also the i really like his colors
>>90205966
Thanks, I'm trying to aim fora low, amount of colors so that they won't be too hard to animate, but yet still fun or cool to look at.
>>90206052
Dewd i think this might turn into something really good
From the wbcomic threads i noticed that while your lineart has never really improved your at some points your coloring got better over time
With no outlines you can actually make some really nice stuff like that character,
Maybe you should try experimenting more with this, also try to look up information about shows like samurai jack for abvious reasons
Also look at the animation notes of yander over wander
>>90206311
>thumbnail
>>90202688
And now a few quick drawings I did of Poppy.
>>90206311
Oh yeah, I have been studying, and I've been practicing appliying some of those techniques in that one sonic parody I'm making.
>>90206329
well shit, sorry about that i had that one on my phone
anyways there are more like this on google
>>90150188
Same.
>>90174485
It sounds like you need the "50 robots to draw and paint" pdf anon. Download it and read it.
>>90180873
Cute.
>>90198188
Nice brush strokes, is it "bit husky" in clip paint ? It looks like it.
>>90204465
looks nice. I'd read a comic in that style.
Drew this character for a friend recently
>>90204465
got a blog?
>>90207718
Thank you!
>>90207756
Yeah, it is. I dance around multiple programs alot since I get bored with them easily.
>>90207972
I use the same brush as you. It's the best for my sketches. I flip flop between clip paint and Photoshop.
To this day I cannot finish a drawing. I need to work on that.
>>90192446
That's pretty hot.
in the outer reaches 4-space, survival is difficult for massive extradimensional eldrich horrors. a rogue superbieng plants his budded infant son/brother in the most ingenious hiding place, an inhabited planet in a 3-d brane, under the care of a particularly friendly looking bit of fauna, a human middleschool student. after the initial shock and mathematical confusion relating to having a 4-d being stick it's fingers into your universe, the boy agrees to help the monster through its larval stage: hierarchical mimicry of the local wildlife.every time the 3-dimensional cross section of the developing infant is fatally wounded, synthesized terrabiological material comes rushing in to generate an even more robust limb^3.
however, inhabited regions of 3-d branes and their denizens are hard to come by and worth a lot to 4-d soul/mindsucking parasites/capitalists. the boy and his demon must deal with the onslaught of shapeshifting etraextremities, hiveminds, body jumpers and recruited humans, both sides trying to stay secretive to the human populous, while the monster's older brother tries his best to fend off the same enemies but from their sources.
actual art soon(tm)
>>90188584Stop posting that because it's already a thing.https://www.fictionpress.com/s/3206139
>>90207859
Nice the thread still alive
with school and now with the job i got i haven't had enough time to draw or even post here
These are 3 characters from one of my 2 comics
Only one of them has a name but together i call nicknamed them team box
a girl who lives inside a box
a clumsy guy who wears cursed metal boxing gloves
and Eddy a workaholic skeleton who wears boxers
i feel a bit rusty but i think i now have enough quality to start making a site for my comics and other stuff
Alright tear this shit apart.
I wanted to try something with anatomical perspective despite not knowing shit about anatomy or perspective.
oh yeah and i also have this cover i made a while ago for my other comic
im noticing a few mistakes on this one now so i'll have to change it a bit later, but it has all the main characters of this little side story
Just finished this.
>>90213253
Another for good measure
>>90199969
Honestly, the headband is just there for visual flair, and to hide the transition from metal to hair. I've only doodled her with her hair down one.
heres a doodle of a goff and a dorky cheerleader.
>>90181984
!!!
Oh gee, I love them! They both look adorable. Thank you so much!
>>90204465
I really like this style! It looks familiar too, did you do the jail school thing?
>>90205586
>>90205606
>>90205635
Yeah, I agree with >>90206311 , the lineless style looks really good and you should explore it more.
>>90211389
I'd say try using Designdoll, it's a free program where you can move around a 3d model and pose it. Some people use it to get a rough idea of the pose or body-type they want for a character.
>>90217502
Thanks that seems like a great tool
>>90221200
>>90221227
i really like reimu,
>>90221264
>>90081886
Not much to contribute right now, so have this sketch.
Forearms are fucked, i know.
Made a gif to practice this style.
Colors are a little off cause the gif messes it up.
neat i got out of my jobe early so now i'll start drawing stuff
Just wanted to bump the thread with a little but very needed edit
>>90227040
Neat! whats their story?
A little businessman wearing a suit that makes him look older.
>>90181991
its great
>>90211209
>>90227040
i love them alredy
link the comics
>>90228379
>link the comics
i really wish i could do that right now but i haven't created a site for my comics yet
i'll enter an animation school in a few months so im kind of saving them for a while because maybe i'll learn really good stuff to improve them there
and unfortunately im also>>90196198
and>>90196397 so im kind of stuck drawing and doing stuff of this character for my job, instead of focusing on my own stuff
i think by august i should already have enough stuff to start my site and upload at least one chapter before entering school
