Your opening is shit. Opening with a static rooftop shot is about the least grabbing way of starting a comic. The exposition dump is amateur and needs to be rewritten. Show, don't tell. Show through actions, show through dialogue, show through framing, imply. Also thugs as a first fight? Mania already losing her cool? Weak. You have to build the conflict and start the stakes higher.

How would you do it then? I feel like it's difficult because I'm trying to make it new reader friendly, but at the same time I want the team to be fully formed in the first 4 issues. When you say show, don't tell, would some pages of flash actually on the secret avengers and guardians of the galaxy be better?

You also have to take into consideration that I'm limiting what I can use with action figures. Pic related was gonna be my two thugs and damsel in distress.
And Mania does freak out pretty fast, I know, but I couldn't think of another reason for Flash to try and get them immediately to Vegas.

Start them in Vegas. You have them there on unrelated business, tracking the same prey Eddie is after likely. That would mean you'd maybe have one of the government lobotomized symbiotes stolen and being used to terrorize the Las Vegas strip or some such. That way your first fight is already higher stakes, then you have conflict between what do you do with the tool once Eddie and Flash are on the same scene, both have intentions that exclude the other, conflict, resolution.

Oh man, I hadn't even considered him starting on a mission in Vegas. That's a really good idea. I thought my plot point to get them there was real weak anyway since flash didn't actually have a plan for the hellmark and it wasn't gonna get dealt with for a few issues anyway.
It solves some other issues I had too. If this thread is still alive after my shift, I can spitball the rough ideas I had for the other issues.

Alright, so brief summary of the first arc, starting from the second issue (Since I'll rewrite most of the first)
>starts from Pat's perspective in the cocoon, Toxin telling him to wake up
>Toxin bursts out of cocoon
>Not thinking straight at first, sees Agent Venom and immediately attacks him, thinking it's normal Venom
>After a small fight, Toxin realizes his mistake when Mania joins in, and starts to explain
>short explanation of Toxin's backstory, last thing he remembers was being attacked in vegas
>Toxin symbiote had split part of itself off to keep Pat alive
>While they're talking Eddie Brock seems to be in pain, but they chalk it up to the shock of separation of the symbiote
>Scorn shows up with a sonic blast, telling them she wants them to surrender their symbiotes (possibly working for the government as well, a possible plan B)
>Everyone turns to see Eddie turn back into Anti-Venom
>Says how he's gonna cure them all
>Scorn tries blasting him, but sonic doesn't affect him
>Big fight between them all, lasts a bunch of pages, ends with them crashing through a building

>Growling and barking at Eddie since he killed Hybrid's host
>Lasher quickly picks up Mysterio's scent, and they follow him to the outskirts of the city (or possibly the center since Mysterio is an attention whore

>Mania starts being overwhelmed and a Carnage corners her, about to kill her
>he's knocked away by another Carnage offering to help Mania, saying he's a good guy
>Scorn says she needs to get her hands on Mysterio to send the Carnages back
>Toxin is able to grab him and knock him unconscious
>Scorn hacks into his device, opening portals that start sucking all the Carnages back into their dimensions
>The Carnage that saved Mania is holding onto something, pleading not to go back, so she helps him and pulls him back until the portal closes
>Eddie starts saying warming up to the others after seeing all the good they've done
>Carnage walks in with Mania and everyone else is immediately hostile to him, but he explains that he's from a world where AXIS was never undone, and most of the heroes were bad
>Mania vouches for him and convinces Flash
>Eddie is staunchly against it, but Carnage tells him he knows what he's done, and can never make up for it, but has to try. Asks him if Eddie's ever done anything that he regrets and can't take back.
>Eddie begrudgingly accepts it, but doesn't trust Flash and Toxin, and says he's gonna stick around so that he can the failsafe if Carnage messes up for a second
>Scorn doesn't trust Eddie to keep an eye on them and says she'll have to stick around to

It was originally going to be only 3 issues and the first issue was going to end with Eddie turning into Anti-Venom again, but I didn't want to rush it.
