Which is disappointing because Aquaman is basically DC's only hope at this point. No one is hyped for Wonder Woman(and it's going to get assfucked by Pirates 5), Justice League is still being directed by Zack so that's already a guaranteed bomb bar some sort of miracle, Cyborg got canceled and thrown into the Flash movie, and Flash got pushed back for a Harley Quinn movie.

If Aquaman fails, we're just going to end up with the Batman and Harley Quinn cinematic universe, with the occasionally guest stars by other superheroes.

Johns seems like a very nice guy, but he really doesn't strike me as a good businessman. Feige is one of those rare producers that know how comic books work, but are also very good at handling a business.

The narrative of Johns being DCEU's Feige always struck me as just empty PR. Guy is definitely getting trampled on by the bigshot executives and most probably doesn't know how to be assertive and put his foot down when he wants something. He's just DCEU's mascot, only there to give comic book fans some hope that he'll manage to steer the ship around. In reality he probably doesn't have much power.

Disney/Marvel aside from a few duds like Alan Taylor has been able to get completely unexpected directors like Peyton Reed or the Russos to spin straw into gold for them.

Ryan Coogler is another perfect rising star probably set to make Black Panther into another smash success.
