That's not really as much a thing as most people think. That takes the kind of concentration that can't be sustained in combat. Lightsaber fighting is more or less like a regular sword fight. Only with a standard blade you don't need to worry about edge alignment.

Being posted a lot doesn't make it less true. You said the fight looked that way because it's "Jedi in their prime." Jedi in their prime wouldn't stand around doing stupid flourishes midfight.

Beyond that stupid shit, the fight is way too long. They go from setpiece to setpiece for no real reason other than it looks cool. The only real emotion in the fight comes from Obi Wan's speech at the end, which could have worked just as well if the fight was 5 minutes instead of 12 minutes.

The franchise is rooted in classic samurai movies. Flippy wuxia bullshit is a departure from the franchise's roots and looks nowhere near as good as more realistic samurai-flavored swordfights. Well, I guess that's another reason for why the OJO got destroyed in the PT. They couldn't swordfight for shit.

There are a unnecessary flourishes and maneuvers in the OT, but it still wasn't anywhere near as widespread or absurd. OT swordfights were closer to the realistic end of the scale than the PT and looked better for it. Dooku's fencing-inspired Makashi also looked a hell of a lot better than everyone else's fighting thanks to Christopher Lee's fencing experience. A little bit of Errol Flynn may be necessary or inevitable, but lightsaber duels just don't look good when you throw in the amount of acrobatics, wasted movement, and silly flailing that was present in the PT. When it comes to Star Wars swordfights, Kurosawa's influence reigned supreme and should continue to reign supreme.

Makes much more sense than Mandalorians are, you know, people from Mandalore. They still have their clans and honor codes, but its much more focused and in line with what Mandalorians were originally intended to be, with them being more military focused.

It's entirely possible. Kanan will probably die and Ezra may continue with the rebellion, though likely give up on the Jedi path. Hera's obviously 100% invested with the rebellion, and Zeb has an excuse to have incentive to leave given that he knows the location of the Lasat native homeworld.

Chopper will probably stick with Hera given he has nowhere else to go.

It's not like those are mutually exclusive, and honestly no it isn't better the way they set it up because now instead of a bunch of random dickholes signing up for Mando Camp, completing their Weekend Warrior training and getting their "ebin armor", as you put it, now they're back to being a super ebin people who are treated far superior than all others.

What you do not understand, for some reason, is what you deride from the idea that they are a culture that makes them superior (EU garbage) is they are STILL a culture treated as super duper superior, only now insular only for their own people. Making them an exclusive club actually makes the underlying problems WORSE. They're born and bred better than everyone, still united by that ebin armor, and still producing the best most elitest awesome dude warriors the galaxy has ever seen all without the Force, only they've also had a super awesome Jedi dudes too now.

It's curious, really, because new canon has now given us at least two organizations, The Protectors and the Imperial Super Commandos, who will draw membership from across the clans. So they still have super groups that recruit, they just recruit from other Mandalorians instead of anyone in the galaxy. I'm not 100% certain about Death Watch, though, since we don't know if Pre Vizsla recruited from outside of clans loyal to House Vizsla with the exception of Bo-Katan who was a member of House Kryze. It's hard to say if Pre recruited elsewhere since he was having to be very secretive in how he built up power, though it makes sense given if he can overthrow Satine and he has Bo on his side he can potentially use her to control House Kryze, giving him two major Mandalorian houses united behind his rule. Of course his dreams never really got to play out.

That was my idea. I was expecting the slaughter house we got at the end of RO to happen to the rebels family. They did say things were SUPPOSED to get darker and harder from s2 on.

I still don't think that'd push him to the Alliance. Especially given what we know of the stance of Ryloth in the ST era. Cham's greatest priority has always been a free and independent Ryloth. He respects what Hera fights for, but her overall cause is not his own.
