Is Grumpy Cat even still that popular?
What's Grumpy Cat?

Imagine that, by some miracle, your odd-looking cat achieves internet stardom.
Ride that gravy train, Anon, ride it as long and as hard as you can. The cat doesn't give a shit anyway.

Is Garfild?

The cat has a birth defect. The owners originally named her tard and only changed it to tardar sauce after being called out on it, but they're still making lots of money from ridiculing their disabled female cat.

As long as people aren't purposefully breeding the grumpy face defect in their cats as a hip new breed, I don't see anything wrong with sensationalizing an individual animal's adorable deformity, especially since the cat itself lives in relative comfort and has no concept of humiliation.
Now breeding munchkin cats and teacup dogs and other physically handicapped trend breeds on the other hand, that shit is obscene.

Some cat who ended up generating a lot of memes because it's got a fucked up face that makes it look angry all the time, and its owners capitalized on the popularity by signing up for merchandise deals and the like.
