If Ben Reilly is anything other than a complete villain and antagonist in his series that is being hunted by Kaine I am going to lose my shit.

He's been Jackal since spider island. He's got an astronomical body count, kidnapped Spock and Kaine, tried to have Peter killed, captured and tortured Kaine, and caused BILLIONS of deaths across dozens of alternate world's where Peter and Kaine weren't there in time to stop him.

He deserves a bullet in the brainpan and a shallow ditch to be buried in.

It's not like the Spider family doesn't regularly engage with magic fuckery and souls and it'd be out of character or anything. In the current Spiderman/Deadpool ongoing wade and Shiklah rescue Peter's soul from a limbo-hell maintained by Mysterio aftet deadpool is tricked into killing Peter Parker (who he didn't know was spiderman). Then mephisto shows up and calls peter a cuck.

I remember somebody a long time ago mentioning why the fuck didn't Marvel just keep Ben/Scarlet Spider around to operate in California. He's the Spider-Man of the West Coast for younger readers to latch onto while Peter remains in NYC as a new father and juggling work with being Spider-Man. But those chucklefucks in charge of Marvel lack the gray matter to do this.

Exactly. There's all these villains with their own agenda and it astounds me that the genetics-based ones haven't tried to one-up one another in a free-for-all over the fate of humanity.

It also sucks that Marvel doesn't allow villains for other heroes to sometimes fight against other heroes. There was a really neat Hank Pym thread that suggested he fight against Mister Sinister seeing how they both came up with their own interpretations of bio-tech.
