Selling out implies compromising your vision and your integrity for the sake of money, and generally comes with a disregard for quality as well.

Gwenpool and what little I've seen of Groot looks totally in line with his previous work, and while it can be argued they're not AS good, there's clearly a vested personal interest and it's not just a pay cheque.

Unless you want to take it a step further and imply all big 2 writers are inherently sell outs because they're essentially writing canon fanfiction.
