I think people have an issue with how Bill allowed himself to be put in a position to be tricked and destroyed, rather than how he was destroyed, specifically. A rather subdued week, common problems in the first 3 episodes but I would at least consider them serviceable, certainly not bad. I couldn't imagine ever wanting to watch them again and I wasn't too enthralled watched them initially, hence the lower scores. They had good moments, but overall seemed to suffer problems with the direction of the episode.

The Hard Way was great, as anticipated, given the investment in the Ludo and Glossaryck story line, in addition to solid plot progression.

Mathmagic is fun purely based on the gags and comedic timing as the world breaks down every time Star refuses to solve the problem.

The Bounce Lounge, well literally nothing of consequence happens. Only new concept introduced here is Ted breaking up with Kelly is resolved in the same episode, and the club closing down, which I don't really care about. Photo Booth in Star's room better still be in it but I doubt it.

Crystal Clear. Exposition episode. Has really nothing going for it, other than telling us what we already know,, establishing a friendship between Star and Rhombulus, and a glimpse of Eclipsa.

The Hard Way was good for what it was and I like the parallels between Star and Ludo's training. New locations and of course the twist a lot of people saw coming at the end.

Why are episodes like the one with the dog and Bounce Lounge even a thing? They aren't even GOOD filler like the camping trip one or the mewberty one

I had trouble with Mathmagic, it was very inconsistent in quality the whole way through. I found the build up at the start incredibly slow and poorly handled; Janna's joke's and Star's responses to the time loops ended up as grating to me. Then the quality massively picked up with the introduction of Father Time and Omnitraxus Prime and then came back down with the resolution to the time loops. Some interesting parts like the variety of time alterations, nothing outstanding or particularly comedic though. So it sits at a 6 for me.

But everyone is entitled to their take on things, I like the variation in enjoyment from anons across this whole slew of episodes, next week will be even better in that regard I can imagine.

Only Banagic Incident, and not even angry so much as vaguely annoyed because it was near the very end of the season and so there was actual proof the show could do way better than that. It's just all the worst ways the show could have turned out in one episode.

Other than that I tend to think the show's just mediocre at its worst, and usually the "worst" episodes are so filler it's hard to really think about them much at all.

I actually really liked Ponyhead's contributions to the Bounce Longe episode, she was one of the highlights in my mind. That being said, I must agree that the show as a whole suffers from numerous episodes that just aren't as good as others. Particularly from a re-watching standpoint.

I think inconsistent quality is a byproduct of giving more freedom to individuals or small, creative teams when making episodes, a system that I'm pretty sure Star vs. makes use of. Some writers and directors of individual episodes just don't seem to put out the same level of quality as others.

There was a string of posts outlining who on the creative team wrote and directed certain episodes and even those who had helped in making a greater number of the more widely acknowledged episodes had some less good ones to name. I think it just comes down to time constraints and matching/mis-matching the episodes intended content with the right or wrong members. Some episodes will just end up better than others under such a system.

It had some okay elements, but it just didn't feel well put together as an episode. I can understand people liking it, for sure, I just personally didn't for a few reasons.

In particular, you knew exactly what was going to happen based on the episode description. It felt a bit unimaginative which is a shame given that's usually one of the shows big highlights.

It also missed a grand opportunity of developing secondary characters and main characters through interaction, until Bon Bon Jackie had literally zero personality outside of 'that cool skater girl' and Janna, who had been given a few episodes of focus, really didn't get to contribute much. I would have liked to have seen more interaction with magical elements thrown in, you've got so many characters there to play off of it where we usually only get to see Marco's interactions with magic.

The ending was strong at least, Star's speech and the final conclusion to the 'Marco isn't able to function around Jackie' feature of prior episodes was a welcome end. So wasted potential more than outright terrible, I suppose I was being harsh on it pairing it with something like Fetch.

Both Heckapoo and Omnitraxus' episodes were a fine way to introduce them, Rhombulus was too exposition heavy for my liking. The key differences was that the first two had an enjoyable episode plot constructed around them, whilst Rhombulus and his ill-fated plan were the only element of his episode, much of which he spent just talking to himself effectively.

Even though I like to meme on Star, I too feel annoyed by her actions at times. I don't know, it's hard to explain. I know the show is about comedy and stuff, but Star making the same mistakes over and over again, feels stupid at times.

Maybe I'm thinking too much about it, the best way to describe it would be that she simply doesn't "click" with me like some other characters do.

I guess you identify with certain characters and their troubles; and feel connected with them through their struggles in the show.

Raid the Cave: 7/10 or 8/10, just decent until the excellent end scene
Trickstar: 8/10, honestly one of the better filler episodes for me
Baby: 8/10 or 9/10, great ending scene
Running with Scissors: 8/10, Hekapoo is amazing

Mathmagic: 7/10, they didn't do as much with the concept as they could have but it was fun enough
The Bounce Lounge: 6/10, nothing especially good or bad but I don't feel negatively about it. Some cute bits
Crystal Clear: 8/10, I liked Rhombulus
The Hard Way: 7/10 or 8/10. Not totally sold on Ludo being Toffee's vessel here (it was so obviously what the plot was leading up to that I was expecting a twist) but it packed a lot of information into a short episode, did some interesting stuff with Ludo, and I really just am relieved to hear Toffee's voice again.

Most excited for Heinous and the Trilogy of Pain that concludes the season.

I can't believe we are finally getting to the final episodes of the season.

It seems as if it was just yesterday when we were still stuck in the hiatus between Seasons 1 and 2 and /sveg/ was known as the namefag general...
