This isn't new. Batfamily being family goes in and out of style, it got built up throughout Morrison's run and the other comics surrounding it, then it got trashed when Inc. ended and Snyder did Death of the Family, now they're going for it again.

I agree. The problem with it for me is Jason. Dick and Damian already have a close relationship. Dick and Tim have considered themselves brothers for decades. Tim and Damian have a sibling-like rivalry. Meanwhile, Jason's hated all of his "siblings" and the feeling was mutual. There wasn't any build-up before he was suddenly best buds with everyone. I also hate that Jason's using guns while wearing Batman's symbol and still no one has addressed that elephant in the room.

For me, it could easily be addressed. The reason why Batman doesn't use guns is because he's triggered, psychologically the gun represents something for him. BUT, he is an intelligent man and he understands that there are good people using guns, even his pals in the GCPD. What Batman doesn't like is seeing someone die in front of him, but he's not autistic, he understands that people die every day.
Also, the gun shtick for Jason doesn't work, nor does the Red Hood persona. He needs a new name and a new weapon.

I actually think Dick and Jason are more alike than say Tim and Jason. They are both very emotional people prone to mistakes from it.

Jason and Dick are very similar. They are the two oldest so they always approach the situation tactically and apply their training but they both love to play it by ear.

The difference is Jason, much like Bruce, has a very hard stance on right and wrong and believes that those who commit wrongs should be punished to the full extent.

Dick has more compassion and operates more in a grey area of just because they are a criminal it doesn't make them less than human.

King's Duke listens to Bruce 8/10 times, which as Dick points out in the previous issue is something most Robins never do. Duke recognizes he is inexperienced and needs training.

I think I heard /co/ arguing for years that is exactly how DC SHOULD be writing the Bat-family. Every fucking thread, the Robinfucks would come out and go "They should all live together and have cute boy shenanigans like in my Laotian fap rags."

So, I mean, you can't really blame DC for giving the people what they want. Of course, the problem with pleasing whining fans is another contingent of them will start whining in response, like you do.

I think King writes them well enough, at least in this cutesy comedy context, but I also agree with what another anon noted, that you could have just said they were busy in their own books and the story would still work about as much.

Although frankly, I'm still surprised that they committed to the Robins getting all fucked up. I never thought for a minute the hanged-figures-in-Robin-costumes-whose-faces-are-all-in-shadow would actually be the Robins. Thank Rao for Kryptonian healing pods I guess. Comics.
