Well yeah, she pretends his wish worked on her to distract him, so Aladdin can try to attack him. Sort of the bare minimum of not-damselness, but it's still necessary, because this goes beyond feminism or girl power or what have you. The damsel in distress has simply become a boring and worn-out archetype. A character has to have at least SOMETHING beyond "Oh strong male hero, save me!" It's just not very compelling.

I get where you're coming from, but that's pretty much exactly the opposite of what most boxing movies are about. They're usually about underdogs who aren't naturally the best in the world, and must train very hard to even have a shot at succeeding (and sometimes still don't) against an opponent who's usually framed as some kind of boxing prodigy.

Not sure where the idea that a hypothetical boxing Disney princess would win just because she's a girl or something is coming from, the movie would almost certainly crib Rocky and make it clear through several training montages that her ability comes from diligent practice. It's hardly giving any kind of "working for your skill is overrated" message.
