The main issue with cyberpunk today is that it's basically outdated sci-fi, it was born entirely from what people from the 80's thought the future would look like based on current trends and technological progress at the time.

Of course as time went on technology showed much less physical change and more internal change than anything and that we actually start to make a lot more efforts towards environment preservation and trying to cut down on our pollution and shit, as a result everything started to lean more towards sleek and clean, which led to current sci-fi which is all about smooth, sterile white lines and less shitty looking cities.

Also don't forget we were hitting massive technological booms around that time which made us think technology would progress super fast, so stuff like hover cars and off world colonies by the 2010-20's didn't seem that far fetched, the problem was progress really did slow down and start to stagnate soon enough. It's basically the same story behind raygun punk (think the Jetsons) being popular in the 1920's but eventually falling out of favor

Dredds universe is 40 years old this year. It's sort of like that south park episode "Simpsons did it".

Think of a potential story and Dredds probably did it at some point in the past 40 years in some form or another. Across every genre.

Vidya is a completely different story though, the media just has a much wider range of genres that it's not afraid to use, it's why we get games like Bloodborne while no movie studio will even touch anything Lovecraft without throwing in a female love interest and PG-13 rating.
