From what I remember, the scene from that episode (Itchy and Scratchy The Movie) is set 40 years into the future, while most of the others are 15-30 years into the future. It's near-impossible to accept everything as canon, but I still think the Judge ending is the best for Bart.

And by ending, I mean official end to their story into adulthood, not my favourite alternate future story.
