NB apologies to everyone who expected this last month; although it wasn't for lack of trying. Some higher power REALLY had it out for me that weekend.

>>89923089
>>89922563
The In-Betweener was the driving force for Longshot Saves the Marvel Universe, which was a delight
>>89923121
>>89923108
Maaaaaaaaaan, it's complicated.
At this point, they're ambivalent. They become archenemies over the course of the story, which carries over into Infinity Gauntlet. After that they settle into a mutual respect that the decades since have explored & developed.
Last I checked, they were the closest thing either had to a friend. But that was a different, decidedly less traumatized Thanos than the one that survived Secret Wars and is running around high on SUPERnihilism.
>>89923318
This part isn't relevant I guess but it's pretty neat so I'll keep posting.
>>89923341
>>89923147
Somebody (might've been you desu) brought it up after last month's issue and I looked into it.
I'm going to storytime it on Thursday, alongside Vengeance. y'know, splitting In-Betweener stories up into a Classic thread & a Modern thread.
>>89923434
>>89923318
>Last I checked, they were the closest thing either had to a friend.
not exactly: Adam has few friends, like Pip.
But Thanos is the only one who UNDERSTAND him, and Adam is Thanos' only friend.
>>89923461
>>89923485
>>89923469
Yeah I was talking about that UNDERSTAND thing.
Maybe if I'd clarified it as "TRUE" friend. Thrown in one of the Greek love words or something.

>>89923556
>>89923586
>>89923609
>>89923522
I don't quite agre... Adam's TRUE friend is Pip.
Adam and Thanos... if either of them had be of the opposite sex, they'd be sex-friends but not lovers.
Their relationship is complicated.
>>89923639
>>89923677
>>89923662
Eh. Pip's a 'friend' sure but he's also the definitive That Guy.
>>89923702
>>89923726
>>89923702
as far Pip is concerned, Adam is his One True Friend.
And Adam loves Pip dearly as friend.
The reason is pretty much the same: neither ever judges the other, and they often risked their lives to help each other, especially Pip doing it against his own selfish nature.
>>89923749
Semi-related: I'm kinda pulling for Pip to be Peter Dinklage's mystery role.

That's it for In-Betweener in this part.
Master Order & Lord Chaos debut shortly after this, so I was gonna post their pages. Only today I realized the issue those apges are from is the finale to this entire story. Anybody want me to post the whole thing? Maybe y'all appreciate closure to the plot threads this has left dangling but it'd skip over a large chunk so maybe you'd prefer to read the arc properly some other time.
>>89924499
Thank you
>>89924763
Is that a yes or a no?
Someone gimme a preference & I'll continue. Anyone wanna see Thanos get BTFO or shhould we move onto Dr Strange ASAP?
>>89924499

I don't get everyone's big issue with Spider-Destiny. Given how often he gets dragged into cosmic matters it's pretty warranted.
>>89925941
>>89925941
It kind of detracts to the idea of Peter Parker being an everyman.
>>89925958
>>89926005
>>89925971
He's a teenage super-genius. He never ages. He got superpowers from a radioactive animal bite instead of hypercancer. He literally ATTRACTS misery & misfortune by just existing. And at his most profligate he can fit 4 concurrent ongoings plus team-ups PLUS events into his humdrum New York life. Peter Parker ain't no fuckin' everyman, he is a walking impossibility on various levels and has been week-in-week-out for decades before "oh btw his powers WEREN'T RANDOM WHOAAAAAAAA" was put to paper.
What did the Totem stuff even lead to in the present? In terms of actual unfurling narrative. Because he'd been having trippy magic adventure's with Doctor Strange as early as Ditko himself in the 60s.
Me senpai's shown up and wants company going down to Co-Op, be right back.
>>89926407
also sorry if that came out ranty, didn't intend it to. The timing of this snack-run is purely coincidental.

>>89942248

>>89942256
Oh snap. I hadn't heard. He's my favorite. Gotta get on that shit.
>>89942337
Okay clearly there's some miscomunication.
Did you read Starlin's OGNs from a few years ago?
>>89942387
Infinity Relativity/Finale/Whatever etc? Yes.
>>89942414
Alrighty then, you're good.
Warlock has shown up but not as Warlock, if that makes sense. Order, Chaos, and In-Betweener are focal characters atm so this storytime's about their old stories, the first of which was incidentally in Starlin Warlock.
Ultimates is great regardless, I strongly recommend it. IIRC Ewing was asked in the mail column if he'd ever use Adam and he said giving him the respect he deserves given his legacy of stories is a mighty tall order (albeit not one he's against taking on). Given the direction the story's taking I can't imagine he WOULDN'T show up at some point.
>>89942526
It's one of the only new books i've been interested in picking up, the caliber of the art is pretty solid. Just a little burned out on everything being Captain Marvel based these days. But I'd be in it for Galactus and T'Challa.
I was hoping there'd be at least five minutes of status quo with Adam's character after Infinity Finale, but that was probably too much to ask for.
>>89936476
Cheers for the bumps
Here's some pages from Thanos Quest that directly follow-on from SS.

>>89931933
the funniest part of Surfer's explanation?
In most stories, it's usually the reverse, Chaos and Order working together and Death and Eternity at odds with each others
>>89933870
that's transeresing REEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>89944491
I know right?
I stumbled upon a What If last night where the balance severely shifts in one's favor and he RESENTS it. Will probably storytime it at some future date.
Here's the last lil' bit I wanted to post: Order & Chaos' appearance in Warlock Chronicles #2.
Apart from their debut I believe this is the only time in history they showed up for speaking roles on their own, and not as some wider Cosmic Convention scene.
>>89946197
Turns out it's only 2 pages. Could've sworn there were more...
I think I have juuuuuuust enough room for the rest of that 70s Thanos vs Warlock finale, if anyone's interested. Alternatively the rest of this issue.
>>89946228
Wait what the fuck
>he who is forever and she who is all
Starlin DOES know that Eternity's time and Infinity's pace!
What the fuck happened Jim?!
pls
>>89946008
that said, Surfer's Cosmic Awareness is limited.
And he DOES says he learned about them from various races... it makes sense he is simply mistaken.
