One thing I've noticed about Ren is that he looks old.

Like, his face looks like that of a man much older than him. Probably due to the multitude of horrors he's had to witness.

I liked it too, though there aren't really a lot of romantic relationships in the show to compare it to. It was nice that it wasn't the typical couple jumping into each others arms in a passionate embrace sort of thing. That too often feels like just a celebration that the will they or won't they back and forth is over. Instead it was subdued. There wasn't really a question of whether or not they would end up together, they were always together. So we just have a quiet moment of relief and acknowledgement of it.

The moment where she talks to Blake for the first time and is at a loss for words while trying to start a conversation I felt was a good moment:

I think people idealize RNJR as a team for Ruby even though it's a 2 set of pairs is because RWBY isn't any better.

I always got the impression RWBY is a team made of 4 female protagonists from different stories that got mashed up into a super team. Which should be hype but the way it's handled isn't. The concurrent storylines in vol 4 just reinforced it. Blake's sections for example are downright distracting and even detrimental for Ruby even when she was part of the team since it doesn't mesh well with Ruby.

Compare this to how what little of Ren and Nora's screentime meshed with their leader Jaune's or Jaune's plight and experience meshed with Ruby's. I think people like JN_R with Ruby because they're supporting characters to Ruby. They aren't "rival" protagonists distracting you from the supposed MC no matter how much people meme that Jaune is the MC. Their showings help to support Ruby, not detract from her. And I say this fully aware of how the Nuck fight was basically Ren's story with Ruby's dying uncle as her stake in the fight.
