Will the early 2000's ever be surpassed?
>>89912806
Not after the action cartoon purge of the 2010's it won't.
>>89912806
Don't worry the french are trying.
>>89912806
The early 2000's was shit.
It was the reason why I never watched tv as a kid.
Well there's Wafku/Dofus if you want a better french anime-esque series.
A lot of the shit from back then doesn't hold up super well.
>>89914372
There is also that one french 3D animation show; "Miraculous" which is apparently alright.I have only seen fan content and a few trailers but it has great comics and shit so I am going to watch the show in a little while and decide if I think it is worth watching...
>>89912806
why did people like this again?
>>89914372
Code Lyoko holds up alright, not perfectly, but it's still got some things to be enjoyed.
>>89914412
I've seen a little bit of it. It's decently fun and looks great but I'm not super crazy about the formula.
>>89914416
I've been trying to find a sub to rewatch it. I've only ever seen the dub.
>>89914413
Interesting concept, art style was unique (though obviously not for everybody), and had a fairly decent plot that improved with each season. It was episodic as fuck in the first season, and was somewhat still so even when the second and on had a central plotline, but did show some interesting character growth here and there as time went on. I'd kill for a reboot that retold it with a tighter plot.
>>89912806
The whole plot of this show is a nerd sends his friends to their deaths in order to 3D print his virtual waifu.
>It's an episode about slow brain death
You know, FOR KIDS!
Didn't think Umi was that tall.
>>89914494
Truly an inspiration to us all.
>>89914413
Kids born towards the ass end of the 90s are nostalgic for their earliest memories.
>>89914499
Who the fuck is Umi? That's Sam.
Does anyone have the french version with english subs?
>>89914595
Nothing on youtube? I know most of, if not all, of the show is up there to watch. If not, I think someone posted a link for the show in a previous CL thread.
>>89914517
I was talking about OP image. I know who Samantha Knight is.
>>89914624
I could only find episode 1 of the french dub on youtube in very low quality
>>89914668
Well, Vegeta is a manlet after all. Of course everyone towers over him.
>>89914624
I can only find english dub or french dub but with no subs. There's that live action one Evolution on there though.
>>89914668
The girls had some good tits on them.
>>89914673
>>89914700
Not sure then. Pretty sure there was some link dump a thread or two back, though I can't remember how long ago. Not to mention I have no recollection of what their quality for the subs were.
>>89914757
I didn't see anything in the archive here so I'm checking desuarchive.
If anyone can help me find the links we should keep them in a pastebin.
>>89914862
Well I never said the previous threads were that recent. We have CL at least once a month or close to it, so you ought to be able to find something.
>>89914905
So far the only thing I've really seen about subs is a thread from last June saying that there basically aren't subs.
Unrelated to that though I found at least the first few episodes subbed on a website called viki. I'm not sure about the overall quality of the subs since I haven't watched a full episode yet, but it's using an old flash video player so my normal methods for downloading aren't working. Anyone have any ideas?
Here's a link to one of them:
https://www.viki.com/videos/159865v-code-lyoko-teddygozilla-episode-1
>>89914942
Huh, could have sworn someone had a thing for full subs, unless this was they meant and they're in the process of subbing everything.
Still, the video quality looks pretty good. Not a picture perfect HD experience, but at least it's not full of grainy shit or has that smothered/blurry look you see in some videos posted.
Sucks that the show probably won't ever get a Blu-ray release, not even from those Diskotec guys who have been putting a lot of stuff out on disc.
>>89914974
I'm pretty sure Discotek only does japanese stuff but it'd be cool if we could get them to do some french releases (Lyoko, Oban Star Races, etc).
I'll try just watching the ones I linked for now but I'm not going to give up my search or at the very least downloading the those ones and making mkvs outta them.
>>89915039
Nah, they've done some non-anime things like Cybersix. As for Oban, pretty sure you can get that on DVD on most retailers online, though not on Blu-ray.
>>89912806
Whey do the French always fail so miserably when trying to depict combat scenes.
Okay I've got something figured out that might work for getting a subbed version put together. I found an english/french dual audio release with spanish subs and I found a way to get the english subs off of the viki version. The plan right now is to go through episode by episode, make sure the timing and everything is alright, and maybe fix any obvious spelling/grammar errors I find. If I get it all worked out I'll see what I can do about releasing the .srt files somewhere.
>>89912806
That's a poor example of good early 2000's cartoons.
