I actually got through Wolverine: Origins the past week and it made me want to continue the threads from there, including the return of Romulus.

Both Romulus and Wolvie's son are characters that writers blew their load with too fast, so they just get shunted off to the side even when it makes no sense to do so.

Romulus was a one-man Illuminati that practically controlled all the politics of the world or originally had to be contained in Cloak's shadow realm to stop his vendetta against Wolverine. He got out, had adamantium put in his body, had a dumb fight with Wolverine with some retcons thrown in, and now he's rotting in a jail cell on the Raft. This guy has made clear that he has agents and spies everywhere, but whatever, he's in a prison now.

Daken had some honestly entertaining moments and had a unique tone in his own comic, but lost his flavor-of-the-month status and got killed like twice. Once again, no one is interested in bringing him back and deciding how much he he hates his dad.
