(kinda bad, kinda good), Sequential Art, Broken Plot Device (if you can find it, it's dead), Sabrina Online (finished, NSFW), Ian Jay's Epiphany (short, ending sucks), Carry On: A Comic About Hyenas (it gets better-ish... you get used to the art), Freefall (it's good if you like hard sci-fi and newspaper funnies), Doc Rat (not sure about this one anymore), Purple Pussy (finished, very NSFW, author is a nutjob), Slypon's assorted comics (NSFW but pretty funny), tgWeaver's stuff (fairly popular but various degrees of NSFW), My Life With Fel (NSFW, quality fluctuates), Better Days (finished, NSFW, try to focus on the story and not the opinions, avoid everything else by this person)...

The next have furry appeal but aren't made by furries AFAIK: Rosianna Rabbit, Galacticat (finished), Commander Kitty, Wayward Sons: Legends (dead), Gamercat, VG Cats, My Cage (not sure about this one either). Also there is Usagi Yojimbo, Autumnlands and Blacksad. Those aren't webcomics (all serious publications) but I recommend following them if you can.

There is Omaha the Cat Dancer too but it's an old, indie, unfinished porn comic. If you can stomach that then go to u18 chan's comics section (full of bad porn comics but you might find something "interesting"). I recommend looking for Karno's stuff if you do.

I think it's simply because it's drawn in a specific style that is used for furry porn 99% of the time, and if you've seen some, it's ingrained in your psyche.
