Is there any reasoning behind the coloring? The purple and yellow really clash with the rest.
>>89878186
Not really, I just sort of picked some colors that came to mind at the moment because I didn't really have any going in. I'll be sure to fix it though.
>>89878391
Red and black look okay together, especially if he's supposed to be villainous. The purple and yellow could work with other colors, if you were trying for a workout equipment vibe. It's just mixing them that looks off.
Are written OCs allowed?

this is pretty neat

Would this be a better color scheme then?
What do you do when you've been forced into a Marvel RP with no knowledge of the Marvel universe beyond Movies and an old X-men cartoon?
>>89879457
Yea.He looks very Homestar Runner also
>>89879457
As far as i know, yes, no problem at all with written ones.
>>89879902
Go search on the web or at least ask your friend(s) about it.
>>89880134
None of my friends are very knowledgeable on this subject though. I'm sort of stuck on my own here and floundering around at the moment.
>>89879902
I know very little about Marvel, but what sort of RP? Most online ones I know of are movieverse, is it like a tabletop or something?
>>89876669 Here's an OC of mine that's based off a character from a mid 2000's show Called Robotboy.
Her name is Lily
>>89880445
what makes her different from robot girl?
>>89880346
Tabletop.
I figure that making a Mutant would be a safe thing to do. As I said I've seen a lot of X-men cartoons and know that they have an extremely wide range when it comes to powers.
But I'd like to be something more than the easiest thing.
>>89880640
If it's a licensed game there should be plot information in the rulebook as well as perhaps suggestions for further reading. If not, your best bet is probably just asking the GM what supplemental material they suggest.

totem!
A young street urchin girl with a big, tremendously fat cigar in her mouth at almost all times. The girl has long, messy, strawberry blonde hair that reaches her ankles, a ragged brown dress, and a big newsie cap. She has an Australian accent and her voice is usually slightly muffled by the cigar being in her mouth. Personality wise, she’s about halfway between tomboyish and girly, with a love for adventure She also has a love for all things explosive, and often lights whatever explosive she can find with the huge stogie in her mouth. She usually lights her cigar with either a match, or anything that happens to be on fire or exploding nearby.
The ghosts of her parents often manifest in the smoke of her cigar. They continue to be loving parents even beyond the grave as they help her with advice. she likes hiding in cramped spaces such as trash cans or crates. She also secretly loves reading, though she claims to be illiterate.

oh, sorry anon.
This is Tim, Mailroom clerck and part time Demon Slayer.
>>89886358
he looks interesting.
Tell me his lore.
>>89877274
Nice
>>89886376
Tim, against his father's advice, was a fine arts major in college. And months of searching for a job has left him desperate. He took a job at Malumo Industries, thinking it was some sort of entery level data technician or something. However, it's as the buildings one and only mailroom clerck for the old one is retiring soon. The old clerck explained that this job has no benefits, a low salary, plenty of hours and of course includes hunting the demons that manifest themselves inside the building, for which noone else seems to see. No new clerck has lasted longer than 1 week, but Tim is desperate and likes the coffee there.
Still working on it, was just a fun drawing really

YOU CHEEKY CUNT! That's great and you should feel great~
Created an online persona for myself while trying out a bitmap brush.

I hope you know how badly I want to see Claire's tits, Dabble. It's pretty badly.
I wish that there was a online browser game where you can play as your character. I remember that there was a really old browser social game where you play as 2d images of random things and chat with people. And there were rooms of people's homes that is built as a random maze.
I don't remember what it was called. But I hope to play something like that again with my characters.
Here you have Agatha & Christie, two new characters for my Wilfreda webcomic.
Yes, I loathe how I drew Agatha's right arm. It's too long. Will have to fix that if I ever ink this piece.
Agatha is a serious-looking, logical girl. She dresses sensibly and speaks in an educated fashion.
Christie is a free-flowing spirit, over-cheerful and twitchy. She often acts on impulse rather than common sense, often flashing a big grin that exposes the gap between her front teeth. She loves it.
As their cobined names suggest, they form sort of an investigation team, solving (or trying to solve) small mysteries here and there. Your favorite pencil is no longer in your desk? Agatha & Christie may help.
Just... don't expect accurate results.
>>89887417
Looks like a Paper Mario NPC. I like it.
>>89881143
Yo Dabble, when's commissions? I wanna see my gal Beebee in your style!

>>89889026
My goal is to finally get my shit together and open commissions by the end of the month!
A girl o' mine, Beth, as a wee bab. More like 6 or 7 though.
Slightly old drawings as an adult for reference: http://i.imgur.com/3UwmRnD.png
A demon party girl I designed for a friend. Nothing to really say because she hasn't been fleshed out much.
So am I the only one who thinks it is weird when someone claims copyright over shit like this when it comes to people making rp characters?
>>89892694
It's a little over the top to be screaming about copyright, but it's also kinda dickish for someone to take a character and go around saying "I made dis."
Or am I misunderstanding the question?
>>89892738
Nah here is an example. Guy A has a bunch of art made of a donut steel named Larry the friendly goth from Brooklyn. Guy B likes the drawings and then makes a character named John the goth from seattle. He then goes on some text based rp site and uses those drawings as a means of going 'that is how he looks'
hold on a sec i gotta take this call
any tips for flash?
>>89890575
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wpv-vGScrvU
>>89892974
Well, let's say Larry the friendly goth really hates broccoli, but John the friendly goth absolutely loves it. Can't get enough of the greens!
Thanks to that guy, people are gonna associate Larry the goth with a fondness for broccoli, even though that is the opposite of what his character represents.
Unless you're gonna copy the character exactly, word for word, which is essentially pirating the character. And in that case you might as well make your own.
>>89893485
Make your own art or character?
>>89893932
Character. And commission someone for art if you can't draw.
>>89893996
Personally I think it is a waste to spend money on a casual hobby. Then again I can see where people are coming from if they got more invested in it than me.
>>89894585
I mean, playing video games is a casual hobby, but you still spend money on that, don't you?
I get where you're coming from, but a single piece of art really isn't that expensive.
Did another revamp on musclemom.
>>89894817
That doesn't really fit when it comes to comparing videogames since those things are mass produced for the public. The only way I see it fitting is if someone had a game custom made for them, and would then post it online going 'this here is mine, nobody plays it but me' and would assume that nobody would download it.
What do you guys like to do when you practice art? Right now I'm just using references for various things every day. Sometimes its hands, other times its images, other times its anatomy as a whole.

Anyone have any design ideas for a spirit thing I want to make?
I struggle when it comes to non-human looking things as a beginning artist. I've got no idea what I'm doing here. I'm not even an artist, my friend is. They're making a webcomic about wizards and I'm getting to help and draw some.... I guess background characters?
I'm working on a character whose whole magic is that she can see, talk to and summon "djinn", strange beings of the mind. I can draw her.... Just not sure what to make the Djinn look like.
>>89891433
I like em', your art style is really cool too.
>>89902340
Right like what I mean by being of the mind is that a Djinn and a Demon share the same origin; the mind. It's sort of a case of people making their own Monsters from past emotions and actions. They feed off of these negative things, growing stronger until they consume the person and that is a bad thing.
I'm not sure how to translate this into a monster looking thing.
>>89901812
what does she do when she's not working?
moth assassin
>>89907120
sorry, all i heard was "moth ass[...]"

Dragon boy and Orc girl
Fresh off the presses: a brand new OC for my comic series "FaustFall". He's a crooked groomer/grave keeper for the black sheep of his brethren, and performs the deed with an unnerving degree of gusto.
I also typed up a lore segment for him in my story bible, but the context may come off as vague since it involves other plot points. Nevertheless, no harm in sharing it:
“Old Man Jack, Cackling Jack, Gnarled Jack, Faithful Jack, or preferably, Sexton Jack (though Jack to his friends.) Jack is a curious breed among the Countrymen as he’s a rather abhorrent example of their human features. He was once considered the bastard child of both a Black Dog and a Denizen. The consideration was noted in ‘ole Jack as he left the Countrymen many years later. He sought personal worship with the Skyward Lord and away from the rhetoric of his former brothers. A new calling confided in him: to be a groomer! A groomer of Black Dogs everywhere! Why suffer the pricks and prods of their mangy fur when he can mend it with fire and cold iron cuts. He considered it a shame that a sect of his brothers would mistrust their Lord’s wishes and expressed pity upon them. Thus the role of sexton: Jack scours the Countryside for his befallen brothers and brings them back to the cliff sides of his abode. Jack thereupon insures them a peaceful passing into oblivion and tends to their remains. The hanging coffins of bundled, shaggy fur are of his pious doings after all. He considers with each new coffin hung, the closer he feels towards the Skyward Lord. However, Jack’s charity is of a curious sort – as though he’s helping a dying breed in hopes to loll it into an early grave.”
>>89888961
i wasn't really aiming for that aesthetic, but thanks.
