I laughed a lot but nowhere near as much as in The Lego Movie. Same goes for the emotional aspect.

I enjoyed the easter eggs and references

Zach Galligillafrickfrackis actually does a really good Joker voice, shame he can't fit the part in live action, but maybe can do the part in all the animated adaptions when Mark Hamill retires.

I liked it. It was very similar to the Lego Movie only with a lot more Batman, which I imagine some people would/did find tiring but I didn't.
>>
>>89867937

THIS. It was one big commercial for Apple and Lego products. As a movie it doesn't hold a candle for Disney or Pixar, at best it's comparable to DreamWorks's latest efforts.Solid C.

It was very funny and entertaining, and seemed 10/10 kino after feeling physically angry from the dumpster fires of cringe trailers I had to sit through before the movie started for emoji movie, baby boss, despicable minions 3 and power raggers, also that pop singing coke theatre commercial with the faggots rhythmically passing all their consessions to the left.

I did see it, it's pretty good. Hard to say without rewatching a few times, but I'd say it's probably a worse film in general compared to The Lego Movie, but funnier overall.

my first thought upon seeing it was that they made Alfred a member of the Blackhawks.

I absolutely adore that idea. Alfred has been shown as having military experience in various tellings, making him a member of one of the known military groups in DC gives him a solid grounding.

Also, I miss Zinda.

It was really good and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was silly enough to appeal to kids and the huge amount of references makes it great for Batman fans.

I was annoyed when I left the theater, because the actual plot is kind of a hard left from the advertising. I wanted and expected a Batman movie, and this went in a weird, different direction. Mrs. Gordon was qt. Not usually into it but tan skin and a red ponytail was a great combo. I saw a thread on /aco/ a few months back about the girl from the first lego movie and thought it was stupid, but I guess I get it now considering I was imaging everyone as humans in the Batman movie but not in the original.
Best line in the entire movie when the joker was on the TV foreshadowing his plan that would come into play in about five seconds, where they pictured a few shocked people, a stall owner, a mother and her child, when a businessman says "I'm gonna start looting" and turns around to walk offscreen.

TLM had very few nonexistent pieces. A lot of their original minifig parts were made into real parts, and as far as I can remember, only one piece is still movie-original (pic related), and it's made up of two existing parts.

TLBM does that too. It combines some existing pieces for custom accessories (such as the Batcowl wearing the Mayor wig), but that Soccer Bat Mom hood doesn't seem to even be made out of any of the existing hood parts. I'm certain it'll still be made into a real part.

Chris McKay also had more Phantom Zone villains in mind:

http://www.cbr.com/lego-batman-movie-director-villains/

>“I would have had Kathy Bates from ‘Misery,’ and [Sherlock Holmes nemesis] Moriarty, and at one point I pitched Daniel Day-Lewis’s character from ‘Gangs of New York’ and David Carradine from ‘Kill Bill,'” said McKay. “At a certain point, though, you have to weigh what characters the kids going to get. In LEGO, it’s sometimes hard to get a really quick interpretation of something. I was already worried that we weren’t doing enough with some characters. Also, at one point, we did put HAL from [2001: A Space Odyssey] into the movie, but it was a tough read. Maybe in future movies, we’ll try to bring more characters in.”

Saw a fat dude three seats down demolish two big buckets of popcorn before the credit ended, then spend the whole movie with his arms crossed scoffing at the whole thing. It wasn't a bad movie, it was worth the $8 matinee.

you know sequels (i think it's rather a spinoff) never live up to the originals? that's the case here.
this movie is a love letter to everything Batman, not something that was supposed to overshadow TLM.

jenny slate does a pretty good job at harley
she can be both adorable and psycho
she doesnt have as much of an accent though

also joker doesnt mistreat harley at all here, i found that pretty cute, especially when they dance at the end

what about batman you say? its not cheating if ones a guy and the other is a girl
>>
>>89912279
>she doesnt have as much of an accent though
Judging from other characters she's voiced (Ponyhead from Star vs., Tammy from Bob's Burgers) she could easily do a more exaggerated accent and a squeakier voice if she wanted to. I think her voice being more subdued and akin to her natural speaking voice had more to do with the voice directing here.

But who was Red Hood then?
>>
>>89935337
Aren't Red Hoods just some no-name fags put in the same costume to confuse the police?
>>
>>89935463
That's red hoods goons.
Based on the attire and he's alone in there, I don't think he was a regular goons.

>Red Hood lego
my dick.

I wish they made these licensed legos when I was a kid. Closest I ever had was when they started making Star Wars legos. I don't even fucking like star wars and I had a ton of them shits

yep

I think it`s Liam Dastal, dude who created Red Hood and killed off Joker before events of comics.
Because it`s lego, he is alive

Honestly, I'd probably get that one if it came with Batman instead of Babs.

That Penguin car looks baller as hell, despite having like 3 frames of screentime.

I think TLM was a better movie, but this one was my favorite.

You could definitely make the case for either.

That Batman/Joker is the one and true batship.

>>
>>89953324
Geez, Batman. We all agree that self-love is purest love but you just went through 1 hour and 46 minutes leaning the power of letting others into your batheart. Yes it sucked losing your sort-of-gothy girlfriend to a construction worker but now you have a batfamily of your very own and you've finally made a best frenemy out of the Joker. Just unclench, buddy. Don't make us use the orange tool to pry those batcheeks of yours apart.
>>
I saw it. I thought it was good, but once again I found Batman's dickishness too annoying, even though the point of the movie was him to get over it.

She's Magpie. I believe she's a one-off in the comics, but what really popularized her was her appearance in the 2013 show Beware the Batman. You can see by the hair that the minifig has some influence from that version, but it looks like LEGO didn't want her wearing that outfit.

So what references were there to the 'real world' dual universe concept?
>>
>>89956809
A Gotham scientist claims that the city is built on top of a bottomless void, reusing the footage of Emmer jumping off of the Octan Tower.

Later, Phyllis (the 2x4 brick who oversees the Phantom Zone) mentions having a boss "up there" who would not be happy if the Phantom Zone villains were not put back where the Joker found them.

Make of that what you will.
