Last time:

-The duo known as Double-Edge kept being brought up
-Updates on Lovely Ladybug Summer Special pages
-New pics of VFT, GG, others
-A backstory and personality for Pussy Willow was suggested
-More about the Bees Knees story arcs
-That mash up catgirl came back
-Supermoms and BreastQuest still get discussed
-Roller Darby is a super villain who challenges people to death races/stunts/feats and goes to extreme measures to get them to accept
-Other stuff I didn't mention.

Last thread made it to Friday somehow.

No, it's all for a joke.

Though a huge super computer the size of a skyscraper (because it's the 50s/60s and that's how big computers were back then) could make for a potential GG villain.
>>
>>89845371
Yeah, back in the 50s they had ENIAC and UNIVAC. And of course, BTAS had HARDAC.

Would a name ending in RAC be a little too on-the-nose, even if it's not commented upon?
>>
>>89846607

Let's see, it was from an Adventure Time drawthread (those were a thing years ago and for many years they were twice a week).

Fault drew it.

I believe it was a request for either a Bullet Princess or a Gun Golem.
Given it was an AT drawthread, Bullet Princess is more likely. Or Revolver Princess.

If you want to look for yourself, I can find the mediafire archive for that thread.

But the Sylo character's head just made me remember that drawing is all.

>>
>>89848394
>>89848442
Yeah, this is really sounding like a super computer SQ uses like how Batman has the Bat computer.

I'm sure SQ has fought super advanced tech at some point or another and this is something that was built from the scraps or reverse engineered from it, but deemed too dangerous or "the world isn't ready yet for it" if she knows it's from the future and wants to avoid time paradoxes.

Incredibles/Fallout/TAS supertech. The computers can be anachronistically advanced. Especially since we already have evidence of giant robots, in one of the comics.
>>
>>89848626
I mentioned the time paradox thing because I remembered an idea where they fight a time traveler and end up getting some technology from the future after they beat them.
One of the things is nylon which hasn't been invented yet in their current time and GG ends up making a bra out of it.

Or it was something like that. The joke is they have to keep it "close to the chest" to prevent time problems.

Okay, here we go.

So I'm reconstructing The Lorax as a better movie, and I want to make it clear whether the entire world has been fucked or if it's just the part of the world Thneedville is in. If the entire world has been fucked, I have a much easier time building a third act climax or, really, anything involving Thneedville. If it's just the part of the world Thneedville is in, I'm closer to the scope of Seuss' original story and the TV special.
>>
>>89850527
OK, and?

I doubt the whole world was fucked even in the movie version. Look to China's big cities for inspiration.

Finally managed to pull out a lady design. Though to be fair, she still looks like a bit of a weirdo.

The name is just a working one at this point, but it's pretty consistent with my usual corny naming scheme.

She's either a spellbook with a semi-mortal form or a person who fused with a spellbook as part of some esoteric transformation sequence. I haven't decided.

Probably my last design of the day, though.

Random thought, might be stupid, but what if she remembers things by giving them page space in her head? She leaves important memories and spells where they need to be most times, but replaces things that don't seem important at the time.

Though that might just be silly to work out, logistically. Just spitballing.

Chunk, peepers and Stunt Master seem like the could be potential heroes depending on how skilled they are personally, in that their powers could be well used to supplement their mundane talents during situations.

And while they are mostly useless for superheroism Fantasia and Diaphragm would no doubt combine for SOME sort of writing shenanigans.
>>
>>89862350
Fantasia and Diaphragm were ideas from the thread the other day about how much causal sex them must have in the X-Mansion.

Stunt Master's suppose to be like an 80s Z-Movie action star; he can get shot a bunch of times, but needs a few days to heal. He's got the most potential out of all of them, I will admit. But seeing as how Wolverine is either sent in to kill a specific person or soak damage by running around like a jackass, Stunt Master's suppose to do the later. Same for Chunkenstein.

Peepers is 100% recon material, though.
>>
>>89862399
Hmm, wouldn't people start getting suspicious that no one could have babies within 3-miles of the X-mansion?

That seems like it might ignite Normie/Mutant conflict even more.
>>
>>89862481
The idea is that he's the reason why you never see a parade of teen-pregnant bellies at a school where the staff is typically off fighting aliens instead of making sure a bunch of teenagers aren't fucking.

I think they even said that he was from the Deep South and had to be hidden at the X-Mansion because he was "proof" that Satan made mutants to end humanity.

He's suppose to kind of be like Doop/Chicken Boo; he was already living in that wing of the Mansion, but was also wearing an X-Uniform, so they accept him a just a fellow student.

There's also a lot of "tell, don't show" sort of things, like him writing notes to people, dialing phones, and making dinner, but you'd never see it happen on panel. Another thing would be that the resident telepaths know what he is, but not want to talk about what they knew is under his feathers. We never see what Fantasia turns into when the two of them are together, but she says that it's not as weird feeling as you would think.

So whenever he announces a challenge, someone could pop out of any random place (sewer cap, trash can, gutter, any door or window near by, passing car, etc.) and yell very loudly announcing that someone has been challenged before a crowd gathers.

Haven't done a single creative thing since I started a job six months ago, so I figured I'd try sketching up a rough cover for an idea I've been thinking about for a while. Need to work on my perspective and hammer out the character's look, but I like the logo and it feels good just doing something.

It's not a costume, it's a containment suit.

He's actually a superhero assassin who fled from the future trying to live a pacifist life.

Coleen doesn't feel "The help" is worth speaking properly to / because she knows it annoys him.

I like to think Coleen and ???'s relationship is a bit antagonistic. She likes to bully the Lab Assistant in a mean big-sister kind of way.
Not quite as haughty as Peridot is towards Pearl or as mean spirited as Timmy Turner and his babysitter, but similar. Like, she'll never make it her business to go out of her way to bully him because she's very very busy being better than Colette in every possible way, but if he happens to be around, she will spit out some unnecessary request at him in "Haz Cheezburger" speak, only to dismissively trash whatever the thing she asked for and leave one more thing for him to clean up.

Not the pickles and olives, tho. she really likes eating those. (but he's right, she really doesn't require food. But she can taste things and process them and really enjoys the sensation of nomming.)

Tell me about it.

Need to come up with a new name for this guy. Just realized there's a Marvel character named Justice who also looks way too similar.
This guy's powers: Can alter his relative time flow for short instances, giving him short bursts of super speed. Also has moderate durability, allowing him to rush straight through walls and obstacles and deliver powerful attacks during these bursts. A fairly simple punch-em-up hero.

Cat Nap's the guy who actually does all the paper work and behind the scenes legwork between people. His power is that he's fully rested on a cumliative 3 hours of sleep, hence the "Cat Nap" title; He can doze for 5-10 minutes throughout the day and never seem tired.

He's very much like >>89863333; a mutant whose power is so lame you'd think they he doesn't have one and is literally fucking with you until you notice that you never actually see him sleeping.

Betilla (Rayman Legends)
Filia (Skullgirls)

Dexter's Mom (Dexter's Laboratory)
Elastigirl (The Incredibles)
Queen Cloudia (I Hate Fairyland)

Almost every girl that Chris Sanders draws
That one girl from The Loud House

I kinda like the idea that she's almost like the weird, quiet goth girl in a group. Like, she acts sort of like a weird, quiet, sleepless thing a lot of the time, but when someone is an asshole there's a casual "You are the worst person ever" type response.

Pictured: Without robes, maybe? Still not entirely sure what's under the wrappings. Maybe it's a spooky nothing.
>>
>>89934278

Deadpan insults could totally work with the whole idea
>>
>>89934278
There are a few good places I could think to integrate her. She could be an object that was being Contained but proved useful and relatively harmless enough to release and recruit. She could be a librarian of the Cryptic Skein, "reading" the books by replacing her head with them. She could be an ally of Dr. Corson, or another prominent magic user.
>>
>>89934821
Could you imagine if she stopped to read a book, opened her face, raised the book up with both her hands to get a closer look, then SLAMMED THE OPEN BOOK INTO HER OPEN BOOK FACE

And that's how Miss Grimoire reads books.

But really, the Skein seems like a good place for her in general.
>>
>>89934821
And the Cryptic Skein has things like her already, so that could be an origin for her.

Lot's of possibilities.
>>
>>89934278

As far as origin, I'm still tossing up between literally being a spellbook/archive who has somehow gained intelligence and created a physical form for herself (or otherwise being some sort of minor knowledge spirit) or being a witch who fused with a grimoire for power either by choice or accident.

Maybe some aspects of both.

It's the opposite of the donut steal threads where peoples personal oc is posted.
There's a handful of settings which are discussed fairly frequently.
The threads are mostly spit balling, and then occasionally someone draws something new.

Looks like the kind of Discworld-ish comedy magic you'd see wandering around Britainment HQ.

Everytime an OC is brought up no one discusses it. If it is talked about its determined that it is garbage and they are shit on for a few posts. COC is a waste of time nowadays

I like the wrappings. It reminds me of the guy that's used as the motif for Tales of Mystery and Imagination.
>>
>>89940449
Yes, that's why we already killed Roller Darby and Miss Grimoire and chased off the artist who drew them. Maybe the OC who were called shit were so called because they just so happened to be shit.

>>89940449
Might we assume you're referring to such fresh and innovative concepts as "Cthulhu with TITS"?
>>
>>89940922
I was referring to Millennial Man, Hatchet and Slingshot, Sentai a Go-Go, Schoolgirl, Parachute Princess, and a shit load of others. No not the She-Thulhu bullshit.

Please do elaborate on that point.

I like what you did with there

"Tha Purgs" is considered the harshest prison but also the hardest to escape. The prison is situated on land that technically belong to another dimensional and is being leased out to the government, this means that few laws apply to the prison due to it not being on government land.

I'm figuring it's like this:
>The Purgs
Government run, harsh, secure, but corrupt. The one most likely to abuse supercriminals and try to profit from them.
Handles supercriminals that can be allowed more freedom of movement, meaning their powers don't require a complex system to suppress, trusting that the extradimensional nature of the prison will prevent breakouts.

>The Helix
Operated by the Justice Coalition, and designed by Mighty Mantis. Each section is custom built to counteract the prisoner's abilities. Built in such a way that it's above ground, underground, and undersea at different levels.
Handles criminals that are too dangerous to keep outside of solitary confinement.

>The Satellite
A standalone landmass orbiting the Floating City, operated by the Justice Comrades. With no means of entrance or exit beyond designated shuttle travel, the Satellite's isolation is key to its security, being otherwise a low security facility. The Justice Comrades prioritize rehabilitation, and the Satellite's close proximity to Cove allows easy access to it by superheroes eager to work with the prisoners to try and turn their lives around, and even friends and family members of prisoners with visitation privileges.
Handles supercriminals believed to be of low danger to society, even if their powers are significant. Being as the staff is primarily superpowered, and the largest superhuman community on Earth (or just slightly above Earth, technically) is nearby, it's believed any possible outbreak can be suitably dealt with.

>The Sand Castle
Situated south of the border, and operated by Mexican officials. Held in dubious regard, and home to many supercriminals who fled the US. Due to lax regulations on the study of superpowers, dark tales about the goings on of the prison have attracted many a sort of "specialist" to examine the prisoners at their leisure. Even the great Mandy Korr is known to have visited.

I enjoy the fact that each prison have distinct story purposes and that it fits within the universe.
Any ideas for the Asylum or loony bin archetype ?

Under Rock
The deep earth lockup, it is the deep dark pit that is the general dumping ground for villains. Used to be one of the main prisons but now about half of its 44 levels are in use. The unoccupied levels are used for filing and storage of super related information.

I really wish I would've seen this yesterday. It would've improved my day considerably.

Oh well, better late than never!

I like it.
who's on staff @ The Satellite. We need some guard and warden characters. A mix of bleeding hearts that believe they can turn all the baddies around, and hardasses that inspire crooks to go straight via fear of god.

Also we definitely need a questionably moral gvmnt liason type running The Purgs and making their own super secret suicide squad type deal going on to go out and assassinate super powered dictators and other prominent world leader type supervillains that can't be addressed by more diplomatic means...

likewise, we'll need a

So does /co/ntainment use a corrupt jail or a not corrupt jail?
>>
>>89951782
You can't have a shady government agency without unethical imprisonment conditions. /co/ntainment is known to subject their containees (and sometimes their own agents) to experimentation, and to use them in the field.
>>
>>89952355
/co/ntainment is already not exactly a beacon of moral righteousness, but having them be corrupt is too much I think.

Muttonchops is hotblooded and possibly insane, and Springtime isn't much better, but they're not the shadowy government types.
They like to hang all their skeletons from trees rather than stuff them in closets, and given their jobs, that's much more beneficial since it sends a clear message of "if you fuck with us, you know what will happen" even if it takes them a mountain of (their own) bodies to do it.

They're the fuzzy icing on the cake.
>>
>>89953468
I'm just talking about what they canonically already do. Springtime experiments on subjects, King Spooky became one of them despite being a former agent, and they have a few operatives who are also containees. These are known factors.

Are they grinding up prisoners into Soylent Green to feed their other prisoners? No, but there's still pretty typical black helicopter shit going on there.

Under Rock has the story purpose of being the 'dumping ground' because of its empty levels not just prisoners but paperwork, Data and equipment. Need to dig up the gear of a super spy from WW2 ? Need to dig up the paper report on how deep a city was flooded by a villain 25 years ago ? Need to dig up that same villain's sidekick or henchman ? That is what Under Rock is for.

Unless the information itself is cursed, why not just have digital documents in a closed system?

Is there someone down there busily digitizing all the logs?
