What made Toy Story so amazing? What would Toy Story 4 be about?
It's not amazing. It's a rehashed story that preys on nostalgia
That dog is probably dead by no

one of the first CGI's so they pulled alot of effort with the tools they had at the time.
looking back it looks like shit now.

>It's a rehashed story
The themes vary wildly between all three films.
The first is about the fear of being replaced.
The second is about finding where you belong.
And the third is about letting go and moving on.
Though admittedly, 2 and 3 share more similar themes than the first film.
Toy Story 4 will be about love and marriage, it's following the life steps of the 90's kids, when 3 was released the kids born in 94 and 95 were going to college, for example.

>What would Toy Story 4 be about?
It should be about how kids don't really play with toys anymore because their parents stick them in front of iPads and iPhones.
Toys don't feel the same as they did back in the 90s early 00s. Like toy companies don't put effort into them anymore. We don't see original toy lines, instead we have The Movie: The Toys. I'd like to see some element of collectors though. Like having some Otaku's house the toys end up in and it's covered in tons of anime girl toys who act like harem girls for Buzz and Woody and their spouses get all jealous. That could be funny.

Disney would never let that happen for the simple fact that they would rather go bankrupt than to be associated with otakus who collect anime girl figures even as a satire
>>89835099
2 already used the otaku/collector concept, and the show wouldn't work if it focused on a nostalgic/pessimistic "kids these days"/"some gizmo" theme.
If you want an equivalent for modern day children, look at the Lego Movie.
2 of the best original character designs in modern animation history, there is so much detail and mastery of color theory with both of them. All the gorgeous little stitching on Woody, the etching on his boots, his belt buckle. Buzz also has a ton of detail, flashing lights, stickers hidden under his wrists, and and I've always loved the look of the jetpack on his back that holds his wings. It's very clearly a seperate piece of equipment he's wearing.
And it's also whats on the inside of them that counts towards their character. Woody is old fashioned so he's filled with stuffing and even his voicebox is an analog record, no battery required. Buzz is all circuitry and plastic and all sorts of flashing lights, since he's the newest, fancist toy that presents a threat to the antiquated Woody.

you're out of your fucking mind if you think Lasseter would do that

>the show wouldn't work if it focused on a nostalgic/pessimistic "kids these days"/"some gizmo" theme.
Well the theme would be about appreciating the timeless things instead of focusing solely on the new and shiny. Something Toy Story plays on anyways.

Yeah well Disney has no creative balls anymore so I guess they'll just play it safe and copy the first movie and hope no one notices like they do with Star Wars.

>It should be about how kids don't really play with toys anymore because their parents stick them in front of iPads and iPhones.
Oh, how wrong you are.
Still, parents resorting to iPads and iPhones is becoming increasingly common because it's an easy and convenient way to shut kids up when they're out about, since parents that are in their 30s and 40s are fucking lazy. Worst generation of people.
>muh generation
People ITT pretending the 90s didn't have parents putting kids in front of TVs.

>mfw hearing people whine about "millennials"
>it's all from baby boomers who were ten times worse
Lazy and entitled. At least millennials are just entitled.

The whole point of the first movie was Woodie's fear of being replaced and coming to terms with changing times
>>89834669
It's still alright, outside of the scenes with Sid's dog.

A couple years off. You're thinking of 1992/1993.
What about a Woody Origins movie? I mean, Woody is a 40's/50's toy, so there must something before he became Andy's toy.
>>89836036
That could be really interesting too.

>What made Toy Story so amazing?
well , it was a copy of a Muppets movie
The Christmas Toy

Somebody needs to hurry up and have sex with that dog before it dies.

Seeing as how the fourth one will be coming out sometime in the next four years, it'll probably involve death, too.
>>89834569
>The plot will focus on the toys Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and their friends after their former owner, Andy, gave them to a young girl, Bonnie.[4] The story will involve Woody and Buzz searching for Bo Peep, who did not appear in Toy Story 3.[5]
4 is about the toys trying to find Bo Peep because Woody can't contain his woody.
He's going to get cucked so fucking hard
