I'm looking forward to watching it but Lamarr sounds a little off, and I'm torn about the switch to full digital. From the trailer it looks sharp and vibrant, and there's that cool bit with the "AAAAAA" sound effect that takes the comic paneling the old show had to a new level. But the lack of handpainted scenery made it seem a bit lifeless in comparison again to the old show.

Just thoughts from the trailer, definitely not enough to deter me.

Personally, I'm glad that they decided to keep the old animation and visuals of jack. They could have gone the same way they did with many other cartoons (see powerpuff girls).

This. Jack is never shown to directly murder another mortal human being in the show, Viking man was cursed and Jack allowed him to go to Valhalla. But I agree it seems a bit bullshit, because a lot of the robots he kills were seemingly fully sentient humans/aliens/animals that turned out to be robots only in the moment Jack slashed them in half for censorship reasons.

We even see a robot city were robots live normal lives and have families and shit, and Jack is horrified when he sees their strung up corpses and hears how they were all massacred.

The one example you have that is arguable (bounty hunters) is neither shown to be dead or alive. But since the show cannot directly show dead humans or Jack killing humans, more than likely they were not. We don't see Jack kill anyone who isn't a robot on a whim. But we often see him 'slashing' someone with the back of his blade which makes them drop.

I feel bad for all the human warriors that the Lava Monster and Portal Guardian killed. I mean they weren't as good as Jack, so they died. But nobody is as good as Jack, and they probably had their own adventures and goals and shit they never finished.

That's not the back of his blade. The sword has an obvious curve, so you can clearly see what side is hitting those slashed and Jack always has the sharp end facing his foes when it's a serious fight.

How is it much more likely that Jack one shotted several enemies in under a second with non-killing blows while the sharp end faced them than simply killing them?

I just finished season 2, and I haven't really watched it since I was a kid, and even then, I wasn't exactly invested in it. I remembered the first several episodes, parts of other episodes, and the episode where it shows him with a beard in a vision at the end. I get that plot progression is not the focus of this show. It's like taking different settings and premises and making martial arts/samurai films out of them, like the episode with the dome, the three blind archers, the underwater city, the mountain, the Spartans, etc. It has a bit of a Mad Max vibe with the wandering folk hero in a dystopian future.

I just wanted to know if I should expect any real plot progression in seasons 3 and 4, and anything else I should check out related to the series.
