>THE WILD STORM #4
Written by WARREN ELLIS • Art and cover by JON DAVIS-HUNT • Variant cover by JASON HOWARD—Variant cover by JIM LEE and SCOTT WILLIAMS
There’s a covert action team out in the wild, and I.O. has proof of it for the first time. This changes everything. The woman who tipped the first domino in this cascade of secrets and lies is on the run. And the other great power of the hidden world is on the scene. Henry Bendix is noticing things from on high, and that doesn’t bode well for I.O., Angela Spica or the planet. The storm is building.

The Stemo fanfiction is always a highlight. Dat boarding school AU.

It's sort of hilarious that Nick Spencer has pissed off everyone on every side with his Cap books. The Captain Falcon one is pretty meandering - I like some of the beats, wish it tapped different characters, think it'd probably benefit from a different writer (if just for the separation).

I don't not believe him that Editorial was mean to him, but 1) that's known to happen in comics 2) overcompensation is such a thing

A Marvel back to basics retrenchment would clearly hit him personally where it counts, and what he's staked his position on.

He's more bitter that his Supergirl run was being shortened because DC was deciding to do Flashpoint and the New 52 relaunch. That caused him to walk off and claim he was mistreated. He wasn't singled out in that situation since it was line-wide and he makes himself out to be far too much of a victim.

And frankly, his Marvel work has been mostly subpar. Without hyperbole, his Ultimate X-Men was one of the worst books I ever read. He doesn't get nearly enough shit for it.

Also this kind of 'exaggerated whitebread middle-class Americana hiding something horrible underneath it' is very much a trope he likes.

Not as much panache as Graymiotti's Gonzo the Mechanical Bastard, which is an amazing character name/concept/etc.

I cannot comprehend how WB STILL has not leveraged the popularity of Arkham to do games based on all of DC's other properties. In fact, games based on comics are still a rarity. It makes no sense.

The 90's gave us nothing but shitty beat-em-ups and there have somehow only been two Batman adventure games in history before the new Telltale game. Even the one Flash game on GBA is a fucking beat-em-up. You have these characters with unbelievable fantastic powers and you just have them walking around punching gangbangers and robots.

If the Marvel Rebirth rumors are true, I'd say the opposite. He's been railing on about Rebirth's bread and butter approach and he likely feels threatened that Marvel is doing the same and likely minimizing him after this event. Especially with his Cap and Falcon books not doing so hot, he's probably feeling a lot of loss of control and lashing out. The election didn't do much to help with his tirades either, but that's another subject.

Oh excuse me, clearly I'm being unfair to the 90s Eminem fan here. How dare I get annoyed at the oh so charming antics of this classic character. That whole feeling myself dying with every word out of his mouth is just mean ol' Cranky at it again. What a fucking killjoy I'm being.

DC is truly the hottest woman in the comics industry. Every creator has some aspect about it that they're OBSESSED with working on, everyone working there seems to be really chill, everyone not working there anymore seems to be in a constant state of sad pining for them (Waid) or "Look at me! Look at how good I'm doing without you! You ain't getting any of this anymore! Oh God, please look at me!" (Spencer). And like every hot woman, every other woman (Marvel) is more obsessed with saying how much of an ugly bitch they are rather than working on improving themselves.
