Katie wasn't. Jack just kinda exists.

Alex went off into the Mutiverse with Richards and the rest of the FF.

Except for letting Gurihiru draw them, the Power Pack as a group has been kinda gone for a while.

Fun sibling dynamics/antics with space adventures and slice of life. The OG series tried to do serious stories every now and again, but they aren't as good as the fun stuff. Kinda fell by the wayside in the 90s, though they'd guest stint in New Warriors and the like.

The Gurihiru minis are pure fun + cute, so they're generally well liked around here.

Mind clarifying? The Inferno arc was FULL edge but honestly the highlight of the whole series for me from an emotional & storytelling standpoint. Plus it was at the very end of the 80s so I'm assuming you mean something else.
Plus I only started saving pages at #16, I have no idea what came before that despite going through it first-hand. What do you remember as the 'alright' stuff? Did you get to space war's resolution at least? Around #25.

Their stance regarding Alex is that they have faith that him and Franklin aren't actually dead and will be back soon enough.

"Beast later uncovers what seems to be a female mutant with feline features, like his situation. This raises hopes for him, until he discovers it's not a mutant human that looks like a cat, it's a mutant cat who looks like a human. Either way, the creature is at the limit of her life and Beast allows her to leave the X-Mansion to pass away quietly in a spot she finds comfortable."

This was a backstory in some X-Men annual, but I couldn't say which one except it was six or more years ago.
>>
>>89817661
wait a minute, it raised his hopes to see what was obviously a rattly-boned old aged cat lady? or did she reach 'the limit of her life' in some rapid fashion due to improper mutating? also, what with the Marvel universe having the High Evolutionary who can actually make animals intelligent, would that be a problem? Once it talks, you can go to town
>>
>>89817706
She didn't talk. He thought it was a human mutant, but it was a cat mutant, and a non-sapient one. She looked like a typical 50% furry scale catwoman, muzzle, tail, footpaws, etc. There was no obvious sign that she was old except she seemed to be sick. Sometimes cats die of old age while still looking relatively young.
>>
>>89817995
>Sometimes cats die of old age while still looking relatively young.
news to me. In my experience, the only real way for a cat to die of old age is of organ failure. they start looking sick as hell, stop eating, their bodies start eating themselves, which leads to liver failure if they didn't have it yet because cat livers can't handle much fat, and they also stop grooming themselves so they look terrible... but I guess a mutant cat might not have to follow real feline aging to a T.
>>
>>89818193
My mom had a manx tomcat who must have fathered most of the kittens in the neighborhood. A real battlescarred veteran. He was about ten years old and still solid muscle when he just up and died one night, sleeping in front of the heater the way he always did but stiff as a board in the morning.
>>
>>89818193
Well, you just said it yourself. They look sick. They don't look "old". I've had cats die of old age. You can easily tell that they're sick and dying, but if you simply compare a picture of them in that state to a picture of them from several years ago, it'd be pretty hard to tell them apart. Unless the weightloss sets in.

The Guruhiru Power Pack stuff sold terribly. At the time Marvel was trying to produce stuff for kids and let it go for a couple years to have content for trades and shit. But the single issues sold terribly, I have no idea offhand how the collections/digests did.

A mother came into the comic store with her kid while I was there and said her son loved Spider-Man, what comics would be good for him? There really isn't anything currently being published suitable for a little kid other than those terrible Marvel Universe comics that just take stills from the cartoons and adapt it into a comic book.

are you telling me your parents never allowed you to have comic books?
special extra-kiddy comic books are extremely recent, have always been rare and have never sold well. all kids buy normal mainstream marvel and DC comics. they are published with kids in mind as their primary audience, and always have been
>>

burden of proof's on you, m8
i mean there's shit like Vertigo meant for more gritty mature audiences, yeah, but even that just made it more popular amongst young boys wanting to be cool and read cool gritty shit.
among standard marvel and dc, there's just.. the main universe, that's it. it's one universe, it's for kids but they hope adults will dig it too

All the big Marvel/DC stuff is I agree. If people think edgy character like Punisher doesn't appeal to kids they're delusional. But I don't know why a kid would read some of the non-superhero stuff out there.
>>
>>89840138

okay let's start over,
>>89830867
>There really isn't anything currently being published suitable for a little kid other than those terrible Marvel Universe comics that just take stills from the cartoons and adapt it into a comic book.
everything being published is suitable for kids, except for a few very rare outliers, and even those are generally popular with kids for that exact reason
>>

>>
>>89840379

they really are pretty well-written and sweet.
I think that's the reason I like incest porn, it has to have a lot more thought put into it in order to make it palatable. If that same work was put into regular erotica I'm sure I'd like it just as well.
>>
>>89841136
So it's the Prohibition-era cocktails of literature? Made to cover the shitty taste of bootleg liquor, but makes regular liquor even better once you can get ahold of it

Erotica with children ...
>>
>>89843722

>>
>>89843722
typically teenagers. if they're kids then it's usually not all that erotic, just innocent play. unless they're written really unrealistically, and that just ruins it.
>>
>>89843819
True, but still.
>>
>>89843934
I guess I could see Julie and Alex doing kissing and some fondling, NOT with each other though!
Alex would be with "increbily perfect" Alison McCourt
>>
>>89843980
But still nothing. It's fictional.
>>
>>89844014
it's hard to find anyone with any positive feelings towards anyone anymore, real or fictional, so it's easy to just kinda let nice close-knit siblings snowball in your imagination
and it's pretty hot, so that's fun!
but I don't think it should start happening in actual tv shows

Now I'm not saying all kids like dark stories, but among my older brother's comic book collection, this was my favorite when I was about nine or ten years old. What If the X-Men lost Inferno. I shit you not. I thought it was rad as fuck.

My second favorite at the time being What If the Avengers lost the Evolutionary War.

I'm not saying they are suitable for children, just that I know at least one child that loved this book.
>>
>>89845359
we all thought that shit was rad, man. those were the days. kids weren't total pusses. but we weren't raging murderous psychopaths either, no matter what we weren't tough enough for our dads.

So what happened to Power Pack? So near as I can figure out, Power Pack had their own series. Then a few, much fewer appearences in other comics, like Cloak and Dagger, I guess. Then nothing until they got a few miniseries a few years ago, duringa burst of "comic books for children" like Franklin, son of a genius. So how does that run down in Whatever happened to Power Pack?
So Alex gets turned into a Kymellian horse-man, and leaves for the alien planet. The other 3 go back to their lives. Later, Julie joins the support group for super heroes. Jack and Katie doesn't do anything other than get talked about mysteriously. Alex is back as a human, and joins the FF. The rest of the PP team is suspected to be living the civilian life, the grown ups doing science and the kids being super powered kids. The multiverse collapse happens and that's up to present time. PP continues to be thrown into Marvel pages on occasion when the writers want to do a story, but the reason behind doing that- kid superheroes- seems to be getting divided up into the other new characters. All those younger-version ones like Moon Girl, Nova, and Iron Girl. The PP arn't the only ones on the block any more. Assuming that anyone ever remembers Artie and Leech.

This kind of "I've never even talked to a girl" tier sexual repression is far more cringy then funny and this is coming from someone who laughed his ass off and may fap to them making their toddler sister sign a secrecy pact before she can join their Sexy Shower meetings.
