I wonder if the rumored "meat and potatoes" restructuring of 2018 will include the renumbering of certain series like ASM to their original numbering, like DC did with AC and Tec.

>I wonder if the rumored "meat and potatoes" restructuring of 2018 will include the renumbering of certain series like ASM to their original numbering, like DC did with AC and Tec.
I hope asm returns to original number.
>>89796953
I can't see a reason for them not to if they continue to announce the first issue of a new story arc on the cover.
But then you've got the whole issue of what do you do with the books that "ended" for Secret Wars even if they were effectively continued uninterrupted, do you start numbering after SW concluded or go back farther than that?
Time for best Girl.

Agreed
I will never NOT be mad that the """"USM"""" cartoon wasn't a cartoon adaptation of this shit. Ultimate Spider-Man was my fucking jam as a teenager, basically the only ongoing cape comic I bothered keeping up with, and I loved the shit out of the clone saga in particular, so when SSM was canceled and USM announced I was "eh, SSM was fucking great but it's not all bad, at least my favorite cape comic's getting a cartoon!"
You can imagine how angry I was when the first episode dropped.
Fuck Loeb.

I havent read many ultimate comics, and i've heard that mostly everyone was a dick but come on Fury have a heart. He's acting like Peter Parker even had the capabilities to make a clone of himself.
>>89798917
Ultimate Fury is a complicated character, at least in USM.
>>89798972
Phrasing, MJ.
this entire thing is a shit show, one thing after another
Okay I was interested, now i'm just tired of this

I think Peter and then Matt.
>>89800258
Peter is amazingpun not intendedas a fantasy for nerdy male high school boys. He's smart as heck, somehow lands the hottest girl in school, MJ, and gets radical powers. However, his parents are dead, its his fault his uncle died, and he suffered immensely as his powers developed.
>>89798280
Man, these Spider Slayers are ridiculously dumb looking. Like not-even-bootleg-action-figure-tier terrible.

Ok, so I get that he has Parker's blood and can thus clone him, and that they can artificially age them, basic comic book stuff. How the fuck did the clones keep all of Parker's memories?

>>89800218
OTP right there. Be frank with me /co/, if you had a full grown female clone of you with your memories and personality, would you fuck yourself?
>>89800279
I'm still pissed they didn't do anything with Monster MJ.
IIRC, they didn't do shit with Scorpion, and clone Gwen never went full Carnage ever again.
To be fair, I stopped reading USM soon after Peter died, but I don't much care if they brought back any of these plot points for fucking one-shot-Miles to deal with, none of it had anything to do with him, I wanted Peter to deal with it.
>>89803345
Yes I would.
But she wouldn't fuck me.

It's to up the danger, Peterx2 fighting Doc Ock? They win. Peterx2 fighting Doc Ock except everything that works doesn't? Oh shit, the chick might die. Hell its Bendis, we might get the adventures of clone Peter.

Agreed very good page.

"I got you back." Unnnnnffffff. I love that Bendis brought this line back after Peter came back.

This - this scene is what made all the crap that went down in 30-100 worth it. That's how you pay off 100 issues of series.

True
>>89796590
Goddammit. This Scorpion design was better than ANYTHING they ever used for him in 616. And it was wasted on a fucking AU character that didn't even matter at the end... We live in a sad world.

Here here!
>>89798309
Anybody else think it was weird how later, when Gwen/Carnage gets consumed by Venom, she just pops out and is suddenly 100% Gwen? And Tony even runs tests and is like "yep, she's totally human now, no reason you can't bang her now, Pete!"
Of all the cop outs that Bendis has ever done, this one still strikes me as one of the most blatant. Like, despite coming up with an interesting idea, Gwen and Carnage are one and the same and all that, he decides after just introducing it that he doesn't wanna have to deal with his own plot points, and just retcons it away.
>>89799008
And another interesting plot point that goes nowhere. Curse Bendis and his laziness.
>>89825384
Pretty sure it was Loeb and then Millar who really cut Peter Parker and thus MJ's storylines short.

Bendis never stopped writing Ultimate Spiderman.
Any dropped/forgotten plot treads are his fault.
>>89828280
The crossovers weren't his idea, and both times the series took a major dip in quality were Ultimatum and Death of Spider-Man. Not saying Bendis is perfect, by any means, but he could tell good stories on his own.
