Victor and Valentino? That was created by Diego Molano, a storyboard artist on nuPPG. Fabien Mense did help out with character designs, but the final pilot unfortunately stuck with simpler, safer, less appealing character designs in the end.

Yeah, some of his designs are "tumblr-esque", but he bothers drawing them in various, expressive and dynamic poses. So they're great.

Basically, he knows his shit when it comes to design, but 89% of tumblr is just shallowly aping it. See that terrible Mexican gravity falls short.
