However, damn that was a wistful episode. Did Hekapoo just take a highway past all the other girls in the Marcobowl?

Marco's spent 16 years, longer than he'd been alive so far, single-mindedly obsessing over her, learning new skills to prove himself to her and get to her level so to speak. He's got a nickname for her and they seem very, VERY friendly in that special sexual tension kinda way. He's mentally 30 now. He doesn't remember his life from 14 all that well, he forgot his passwords, it's all so distant. At first, he didn't even want to go back, he was so accustomed to his new Danger McBadass life.

Also, he's got a dimensional pair of scissors he's ACTUALLY earned for himself, without magic, whereas Star's pair, if she still has it, is stolen and gotten as a gift, not earned.

In any case, Hekapoo has a WAY longer history with Marco than Star does, now. H's got 16 years, Star barely 1. Hmm.

I wonder if this'll contribute to the incoming rift between Star and Marco? Her reckless naivety already got on his nerves before, but I wonder if she'll seem even more childish to him now?

Now this was one episode and a half!

Easily my favorite episode so far of this new half-season, everything from the visuals, the pacing, the absurdly clever callbacks to previous episodes, and of course Hekapoo was a joy to watch.

When I heard the early leaked details I thought "that sounds so absurd I wish its real", and thank god it was real! it was better than I could imagined! the sheer absurdity of Marco going on a 16 year quest to get worthy of a pair of dimensional scissors... Bravo Nefcy!

I do have to say it tho... Marco and Heka had MAD chemistry, and dare I say some dank sexual tension, I cant help but ship them! S-sabco forever... What have you done to me, Daron!?!?

Oh man this episode got my creative juices BOILING! the sheer potential for fan art (both clean and lewd) and fanfic is off the charts, and the changes to the status quo and marco's character this brings will no question end being subtle (because in the end is the same goofball he's ever been) but no doubt they will be meaningful for the rest of the series.

I fucking love this dumb cartoon way too much.

In terms of "in-universe" we'll just say that his mind reverted to that of his old self and the only thing that really changed was his memories. There could be a few direct consequences that are directly addressed, but not a major change to Marco's personality (because of the reversion)

Talking about actual reality for a second, different writers write different episodes and that requires characters to be a little more flat and consistent than in a more explicitly plotted out drama. Marco will act the same except for maybe some extra knowledge because that's how episodic shows with disparate writing staffs work.
