11 issues are great IMO, but then the 3rd volume was garbage, like hot garbage. It followed around hawk-girl going to LA, and all her dialog was bad and for some reason the change in color really pissed me off, the darker cooler colors in the first 11 issues where great but the bright yellow/orange in Vol. 3 just is jarring and annoying.

If you are interested in it, I'd buy the first 2 volumes.

I thought it was really good, yeah. Fraction does the street level stuff well and Aja is an amazing artist. Sometimes it can get a little too....not sure how to describe it...minimalist? A lot of the time there's very short dialogue or none at all and the art does all the talking. That's cool and Aja can pull it off, but at times it can feel like it's trying to be a little too smart. Definitely feels like Fraction was very pleased with himself writing it. Still well worth reading though, although the Kate arcs aren't great. Pizza Is My Business is one of my favourite single issues of that year

Only when the story's focused on Clint.

By far the best thing Fraction's ever written....which doesn't say much. In fact, it's probably the only thing he's written that isn't complete garbage.

Immortal Iron Fist?
>>
>>89780088

Never read it. I've read his Iron Man, Fantastic Four, X-Men, and Sex Criminals. All of which have been straight trash in my opinion.
>>
>>89780101
Even though his iron man is amazing it is still probably the best iron man run in decades.

I enjoy sex criminals though but I think it's something that not everyone would like. The plot isn't super compelling but if you treat it as a slice of life then it's a lot more enjoyable

The Knaufs' run right before his is infinitely better.

No.
>>
>>89779867
Read it and make up your own mind.

>>89780077
Don't like sex criminals anon?

It's one of my favorite things to come out recently. Not sure why Fraction gets so much hate on here.

It starts better than it finishes, but it's solid as fuck and takes some really interesting chances.
>>
>>89779867
No, it turns Hawkeye into someone I regret having gotten into before reading this run, it ruins his character indefinitely.
>>
>>89779867
It's not the best comic ever, but it's pretty good. People often say it has a bad second half, but I liked Clint's side until the end. It only felt a bit dragging i. Kate's side, and it was weakly tied to Clint's.

But solid book, 8,5/10. Got me back into comics, which is a thing, honestly.

Twenty issues to deal with some thugs. It has it's moments, but it gets really stale.

>>89779867
It's completely carried by the art.

mediocre to be honest.
>>
>>89779867
It drifted into SJW land. With pushing Kate Bishop to the point where some issue had no Clint at all and there was an obnoxious sign-language issue where a major development happens but if you don't know sign language you're left in the dark. Both where suppose to be in your face "NOW YOU KNOW HOW IT FEELS" shit, but the book isn't free and this isn't what I paid for.
>>
>>89780077
Better than Casanova?
>>
>>89787552
NYKHIF thing is fair, but it was pretty easy to look up.

But apart from that, what about seeing it as a cool experiment in the medium? Especially on a Big 2 book, changing up the form significantly and trying a slightly different way of making a comic was something to admire.
Also yeah, now you do know how it feels so it accomplished its mission.

And calling Kate having her own four issues and an annual an SJW thing is just wrong. How was it an SJW thing? Because the girl Hawkeye got her own chunk of story where she lived next to two gay guys? Her story in those looks almost nothing like her current series that is really hamfisted in its modern progressive marvel tone. But Fraction's Kate books were well written, compelling and didn't have stock characters for diversity, it just had well written diverse characters. Which is the biggest problem with Marvel pushing progressive stuff, not that it's changing stuff, but that it's not doing it well. Fraction did it well.

>>89785638
God damn these action sequences. Aja's sense of fucking movement. Man I forgot how much I loved this series.
>>
>>89785638
...so if the arrow has a cable in it, and you shoot the arrow, what is the cable attached to?
>>
>>89789940

I dont really need to say anything because i basically agree with this anon. the issues that were considered "not good" by many were at least taking chances which isnt something esp now you see Marvel doing at all, also alot of people understandably were soured on the series when the delays started happening at the end

>>
>>89779867
Yes.

It's not deep, it's not subtle, it's just good. Most people who dislike it are just bitter that everyone who wrote Hawkeye afterwards tries to ape Fraction's Hawkguy.
