You have to remember, Terrigan cloud wasn't originally a cloud. It had a safe prosedure way to do it as a crystal. They decided randomly this wasn't good enough and that they could spice it up, so they made it a cloud

For some reason they're treated as the heroes for doing it, and the X-Men are the villains. The entire thing is damn stupid. X-Men have a dozen reasons why they shouldn't have to leave, but topping the list is "Why they fuck should we have to leave? You're the ones who suddenly decided to do this, as though you had some right to do it. This is our home, fuck you". Nobody cared during Inhumanity and when the Inhumans push started.
It was M-pox thing that sparked the rumor that "LITERALLY ALL THE MUTANTS WILL DIE" even though more named mutants died from the legacy virus with everyone else being offscreen mutants. Plus the constant swear that mutants were being retconned into Inhumans when only one did and that was the one mutant that was Toro the one mutant that got retconned into being a mutant in the first place. It's silly to think that Marvel would give up all that money or that they thought the Inhumans would equal/surpass the X-men in sales when the Avengers can't after two movies, several cartoons, and years of comics.
