She was married, had two kids. Husband's brother was jealous joined yakuza. He then used that famous sword to kill her husband and burn her house down. The two kids died in the fire and her husband's soul trapped in the sword. In the Outsiders she serves as a surrogate mother figure to Halo a teen girl with no memories. Also her hair is always drawn to be really bad. She basically acts like a bitter old Japanese woman personality wise.
