>Are you the Hacker known as 4chan?
>>
>>89755188
Hm. It is a bit heavy-handed ( no pun intended) on the passing social commentary and topical shenanigans. But I like how they have that group of misfits going there and they have their own thing going. Also Zoe still hasn't worked up enough courage to fess up to Nakia and is getting catty with Mike's relationship troubles because she feels bad.
Makes it feel like unlike some comics this one isn't pulling figurative or literal punches on women.
Kamala duking it out with Docxie here was pretty brutal.
Fists, kicks, that 2x4... I get how they were surprised they were both standing afterwards. Especially construction girl.
Also I like that it's not a nerd guy as the villain but some sentient AI.
I have a suspicion she might end up befriending...him? Anyway, he said he was looking for attention from her, so maybe if she stops being so afraid and angry she can recruit him because positive attention is much easier to get in the long run.
And then we all learned something about the nature of fear and the unknown, Kamala has literal tech support and we get a Marvel version of the Puppet Master. And we get the next arc with Vision or Viv, or Wasp, Spider-Man, Doom even, where gets a cyber body so he can be a real boy.
And then he meets Cecil and they found the league of incorporeal hacker sidekicks.

Are you... sniffing glue?
Because that is not a line against white people but about the blindness of America towards its own cultural ailments. Massive drug abuse doesn't just happen.
And US pharma is a big part of the problem, peddling opiates like candy.
Also glue and paint fumes are just about the cheapest high you can get, so if there is a kid huffing glue, we are talking dirt poor. Down and out. Broken homes and derelict kids.

No, hard economics. The US spend trillions on foreign wars and remarkably little on mental health or social programs.
American companies build more roads in Iraq than in Illinois. Billions are pumped into planes for a war that may never come while veterans die because their hospitals go to waste.

abusing drugs is a problem of having too liberal and permissive parents/society, the problems of islamic immigrants, like honor killings, wife beatings, clitorectomies, etc. are the opposite, problems of authoritarian parents/culture. i'd rather have the first type of problem than the second desu. although oddly liberal society seems to be 'liberal' about permitting authoritarianism/misogyny/homophobia so long as it is practiced by brown non-christian people.

>>
>>89766159
Jesus H. Christ!
You people are slow on the uptake.
The world is not a single liberal/authoritarian dichotomy.
The drug problems in the US are not due to theoretical liberalism but due to complex interlocking factors.
We have the "war on drugs", which cemented illegal drug users as pariahs while medical companies could peddle addictive drugs freely at exorbitant prices. We have completely schizophrenic parameters for which drugs are permitted and which are not. Add in scare campaigns and misinformation while not really helping addicts and presto!
A society in which you get fucking opium for back pains but get thrown in jail for years if you try to buy it for cheap. A society where getting addicted is easy and getting away from it risks your complete social destruction. A society where some addictive drugs are sold freely but more harmless ones are outlawed.
That has nothing to do with anyone being too liberal. It's arbitrary draconic punishment in the face of temptation and ample supply.
People have always taken drugs. Animals take drugs. You don't get that out of people. The question is how to channel it for least harm, not how to try and suppress it harder.
They tried to get alcohol out and they only got the mob rich.
You don't beat crime by punishment, you beat it by giving a better, safer alternative.
You can't outlaw vices and hope to get less crime. You legalise, tax and regulate the shit out of them.
And you get clean hookers, clean booze, clean weed while raking in dem sweet tax dollars.
Then you treat those who got the bad end of it and keep the afflicted in fighting shape so they make you more tax dollars.
And suddenly you have no more toilets full of ODing junkies, no illegal street walkers with ten different STDs and no monsters shooting up the town.
I can't promise you will quite get Amsterdam, but it works there swimmingly.

Such incentives usually require to be externally given because companies don't give a shit about things that don't make them dosh.
So either you do the heavy lifting for them with independent research or you just pay them.
Eliminating weed as a competitor does nothing to make them develop new drugs. Money is the only leverage you have because it's the only thing they want.
Anything else they will just take and run away with.
You have to force them to do the right thing by making the alternative more expensive for them.
By contractual means, not by threatening them vaguely on twitter.
>>
I like the comic characters but trying to make them "sound" like teenagers makes my ears bleed.

Reason I couldn't stomach Life is Strange or OxenfreeKamala's still has the better Lesbian Zoe though over the walking death magnet
>>
>>89768194
Are you a teenager or do you know any teenagers? I often find that neither are true for /co/ posters.
>>
>>89767471
I would disagree on grounds of excessive vagueness.
Permission is not a problem at all. Lack of conditions for permission and socialisation into the avoidance of addiction is a problem.
Normalisation and responsibility really are key here. Making it an all or nothing doesn’t help.
Doesn’t work for drugs, guns, sex or anything else.
And if any country has this backwards, it's the US for drugs.
Excess and crime are direct outcomes of dangling vice before people and calling it the devil.
Because then it's desirable and mystical. Is the liquor shop at the corner mystical?
Nah. Beer section at the walmart? Nope.
A drug so badass they throw you in jail for having some? Yeah. Your parents hate it and the pastor calls it diabolical? Gimme!
Honesty and transparency are your friend here.

Drug companies have nothing to do with making drugs illegal. They are almost always the ones who have brought them out only to have them banned by the government due to abuse.Furthermore weed doesn't cure shit except loss of appetite that people with cancer have issues with. It doesn't act as a replacement for drugs.

The issue is about public decency not about drug companies not profitting from the sale of drugs. If recreational drugs were league a bunch of companies would start selling them.

Also work on countering antibiotic resistant germs is happening and is getting funded the problem is these research trials takes years maybe even decades to create a viable consumer based version.

Why are you insisting on contradicting me if you don't say anything counter to my points?
You just throw out a ton of stuff tangential to the topic.
Your only point of contention is apparently "public decency".
And recreational drugs are already legal. What do you think alcohol and tobacco are?

I don't see potheads threaten the public space any more than normal smokers and drunkards. So what if the guy at the corner table eats a ton of chicken nuggets? The guy puking all over the bar is worse. I can see coke being a problem, but TV stations work as they are and who would think to try and relax on a strong stimulant?
Wanna sleep? Time for a double espresso!
Another legal drug, btw. Can easily kill you in its pure form.

This is what I enjoy seeing Kamala do. Just her own adventures in her hometown while being adorable and I loved seeing it again. Just regular teen superhero stuff that involves everyday life

Hope Marvel doesn't force Kamala too much in tie-ins. Unless they are great then I wouldn't mind

Worse, the story is completely doesn't involve videogames it's all about emails and texts!

It's common for covers to have nothing to do with the story but these are complete lies.

>>
>>89781928
A measure of how much you actually engage in class to avoid grading only test results.
It's how I kept my math grades up. He gave you better grades for being in his school choir.
>>
>>89782090
I see why it exists, but I don't like it.
>>
>>89782102
Why? There are people who are shit at tests. Grading them throughout the year helps them.
And you can punish students for being dickwads without going into disciplinary measures.
In theory you could be a dick to students with that, but you can do that anyway.
Also it avoids students checking out by encouraging participation. Which is a damn good thing because otherwise it's just a damn sermon.
>>
>>89781928
Part of your grade is for class participation aka are you actually trying to learn. It's basically there to penalize the people not paying attention in class while giving an incentive to actually be trying.
>>
>>89782185
>Grading them throughout the year helps them.
Yeah, if you're grading them on what they've actually learnt, not how often they show up.

>And you can punish students for being dickwads without going into disciplinary measures.
>taking away grades for talking in class isn't disciplinary
Seriously, you think taking away GRADES for TALKING IN CLASS isn't disciplinary?
That's retarded.
What if a teacher takes a disliking to a kid for no real reason?
They can just take away more and more of their grades meaning an average-to-good student may fail purely because a teach didn't like them or, god forbid, they get sick often.
And due to teacher's unions, there's no way any teacher would get fired for this, even if they admitted doing it all out of spite.

Nah, this is actively fucking with students.

>>89782204
Penalize them with detention, speak to their parents, etc.
Don't take away their grades.
>>
>>89782245
Seriously, I have never had a teacher just fuck with a student in the grades.
And I witnessed teachers get shouted down by the class for giving a participation grade that was perceived as too low.
And you don't get them for being there. You get them for participating in class. For giving right or good answers, doing your homework and being attentive.
You can mostly coast by on Cs if you don't say much in class and do as you are told, but participation As were hard and took effort as well as knowing your shit.
I personally had participation above my test grades in many cases because I had a bit to say on most topics and listened to the teacher.
Another student managed to ride coat tails all the way to the bank by paraphrasing what smarter students said before him constantly. The guy was dumb as a bucket of shit, but damn if he couldn't manage his resources for passable grades.
>>
>>89782656

>petty bourgeoisie
yeah, wilson totally isn't the problem with kamala's sales you guys
>>
>>89782245
Ah yes. great idea. Make teachers stay behind to watch over some lazy ass who can't be bothered to do anything in class instead of offering an incentive for the kids to try and learn. The parents/detention thing only works when parents give a fuck and/or may not always be a bright idea.

You seem strangely offended by the idea of a participation grade and I say this as a person that would have benefitted only having to bother with answering tests massively.
>>89782656
Even that guy that was dumb as shit was technically learning something extra compared to normal by sheer osmosis
>>
>>89783090
>You seem strangely offended by the idea of a participation grade
No, I'm angry about it.
I'd probably be on board with it if teachers couldn't take it away for petty reasons.
>>
>>89783125
So you're angry about the fact that teachers can tke away grades for petty reasons when they've ALWAYS been able to do that. That's how you get to be a B+ student instead of an A- as the minimum when doing that sort of thing.
It's outright been happening to most minorities for decades. This is why your moral outrage is just bizarre to everyone. It's about an already existing problem while pointed in the wrong direction.
>>
>>89783207
Ah yes, the "it's been happening to minorities forever, so it's a good thing now that it's happening to everyone else" response.
Kudos.
>>

>It's outright been happening to most minorities for decades
lol
>>
>>89783239
Are you purposely being retarded? Or trolling in a thread about an issue about trollings? Aka Meta trolling?
I'll pretend you're not. As I said before. Pointed in the wrong direction. Participation grades have absolutely nothing to do with whether or not a teacher can be petty and negatively affect a grade if they so choose to. At no point did i say "it's been happening to minorities forever, so it's a good thing now that it's happening to everyone else" response." or imply it. You are just being retarded and interpreting it as retarded.
I'm beginning to question on if you've ever been in a school to begin with at the rate you're going. You didn't just get installed as the Secretary of Education by chance?
