For what it's worth, I get the sense that Tynion is trying as hard as he can. But what I'm reading here is him just droning on about motives he's imposing on nuCass, "informed" relationships that we've never actually seen in practice, and still zero good action scenes, how many months in? How long do they think they can try to use Cass without a solid, well choreographed fight scene? Hell, they're advertising one, several weeks from now, but the fact that they think it's worth advertising is the problem. It should happen in every issue Cassandra Cain is in. And if they can pull one off, why wait until now?

For a new reader this series would be a terrible introduction to her, and an old reader is just going to be upset that it's different from the far superior Puckett/Scott version that radiated confidence.

This is why you don't change the classics, people. You don't alter the plot when you remake the Robocop, because any change you make will necessarily be a change for the worse. The most promising part of the issue is a regression, a return to form - Shiva wearing her good clothes again. That small detail is more welcome than all of the actual story. Why do you think that is?
