Hey /co/ let's read Hellboy the Conqueror Worm!
>>89746526
I really like this one
>>89746526
I don't feel like it. I wanna read about when Hellboy comes back to earth to fight the Ogdru Jahad
>>89746526
Ew I didn't know that picture had that shitty white.
>>89746526
Neat.
Good ol' Roger.
>>89746526
the first i ever read and still my favourite
>>89747612
The last two panels are my favourite
>Look Rodger. A dead alien.
That perfectly sums up Hellboy's character
>>89747819
I'd love like a giant book of all the shit Hellboy has been through that made him the man he is in terms of how little shit shocks him and how quick he is to just accept shit and view it with shockingly little interest.
>>89747866
Well that's what Hellboy and the BPRD is slowely doing. I think since he's a demon himself, he's always been fairly unsurprised by this stuff anyway.
>>89748309
Yeah there is that book but I meant more like a giant encyclopedia type thing of BPRD and Hellboy adventures and artifacts and shit.
>>89748363
Ever pic up the Hellboy Companion? While not incredibly complete, it does have a timeline. It's where the idea for Hellboy in Mexico came from.
Also once Hellboy and Kate spent a night watching aghost ride a donkey.
Thanks dude. Always really liked this story.
>>89748439
I have it somewhere but I will admit to not having read it yet.
>>89748501
It reads fast. It's informative. I like it. I think Allie regrets it. But largely because the profit wasn't there for the amount of work put into it.
>>89746916
Why are the Nazis literally everywhere in Hellboy?
>>89748713
Nazis are the best villains.
>>89748713
Because they figured out some very bad shit.
Also they don't show up all THAT often really.
>>89748731
It's true in Hellboy proper the Nazis are all front loaded in the first few stories.
Thanks for reading!
>>89748859
No matter how many times I read this it's always a blast. Thanks for the storytime Dan.
>>89747612
A ghost, demon from hell and homoculus standing in front of a dead alien this comics great
>>89748882
Read BPRD. A werejaguar orders the homoculus to wear pants.
>>89747612
Can't wait for this guy's story in a couple of weeks
I always wanted to get into Hellboy, but even when reading stuff with Mignola's art the combination of the prose and paneling makes it feel thick and hard to get into
>>89749853
It's a slow and methodical comic with a lot going on under the hood. Lot's of subtle hints of things happening in dark places we won't find out about for years, if ever.
Very, very worth it. But as is the way with such things, start at the beginning. This story is essentially the finale to the first era of Hellboy stories. A fantastic arc, but perhaps not the best place to start.
>>89746526
Aliens and Nazis and the ghosts of 1930's crazy vigilantes, oh my!
>>89749130
Dat bulge. Also
>were-jaguar
Please don't spoil things like that, it's a pretty big revelation.
>>89749358
How big a deal do you think aliens will be in the long run in the Mignolaverse?
>>89748725
I actually like Hellboy best when it gets away from science Nazis and starts being more mythological.
Astaroth best villain.
>>89751309
I'm hoping they don't play a big part, that's why I'm excited to get their story cleared up. But then there is that other story of other aliens putting a cow head on some teen that needs to get cleared up to. If they do come up later on during BPRD I hope it would have to do something with the bits of the ogdru jahad that are floating around in space because of Johann
>>89751926
Yeah but the Buster Oakley aliens are different aliens, I'd be super cool with them just being your typical fucking with humans style aliens you know?
>>89751989
I would be OK with that to, and it would be pretty funny to have those aliens come back, run into hellboy again, almost probe him again, and get in brawl and have the situation end the same way. I always felt bad for that kid, the bprd should have recruited him
>>89752138
>the bprd should have recruited him
And then he'd pretend he was a legendary Minotaur?
>>89752138
Nah Buster Oakley fucked up and really deserved it. As a midwest kid myself he should have known better. Don't fuck with magic and aliens.
>>89746526
Bought Library Edition 3 just for this story. Worth every peso.
>>89748796
It's true.
>>89749853
That's just how this one starts. In other Mignola comics there is less prose, just small sections. Like Blake's Tyger in Wake the Devil somewhere in the ass end of Wake the Devil 1, tidbits of it in For Whom the Bells Toll, etc. There isn't really a ot of it.
>>89747199
Never trust the terse blonde Austrian. That's like Nazia 101 man
>>89747430
>"The lightning ... electricity ..."
>"The machines feel cheated. They want to live"
God Damn. That shit - lines like that - just fucking do it for me. I don't know why, but they do.
Thanks, Anon.
Bump! Bump! Bump!
And thanks
Hellbump
>>89746526
Still my favorite Hellboy story
