I remember this book. The ending is extremely bittersweet, but the ride up to it is great. At least one of the girls gets a good end, even if early on they wouldn't see it as such.

[HELP]... old online sci-fi animated series (pre-youtube)

I need some help remembering (finding it would be even better!) a very old online animated series, set in a cyberpunkish future.
all I remember is that it was made in flash, maybe it was on Kongregate or some website like that, the protagonist was this girl with some special powers, maybe her father was a scientist, the world was ruled by insects. I seem to remember the trains were some kind of big worms.
the intro of every episode was this girl talking and then a scene of her falling from a high tower to the lower parts of this cyberpunk metropolis.
she fought against the evil insects, who were also trying to capture her because she was important to them for some reason.
it was really good, but I've never been able to find any info about it.

It's because telling stories about how other people are awful and that's why things are bad is easier than facing the truth of reality. European culture is turning inwards and becoming more hedonistic by the decade. Morality is declining as profits and standards of living rise. People hurting each other for little to no reason, destroying each others lives and then moving on, it's just a symptom of the decline of society. Why care about other people or the consequences of your actions? Why bother trying to enlighten and uplift when you can just go fuck someone and their life?
