Alright, /co/. I need your help.
Doing a research paper on myths and hoaxes. Given my love of the medium, I chose to do comic books. Now, there's a few I know about, but those are too mainstream. I wanna educate normies on the stuff that NOBODY outside of the medium's usuals know about.
So, I present a challenge for you, /co/.Let's compile a list of obscure comic industry hoaxes and discuss them.
Stan Lee didn't create, draw, and/or write for every Marvel character.
What do you mean by comic book hoax? can you list an example or two?
Uncle Ben didn't originally say "With great power comes great responsibility."

For myths, Uncle Ben saying the "Great Power, Great Responsibility" line
For hoaxes, I don't understand. Ordinarily a hoax is creating false evidence for something that does not exist. How would that apply to comics? Like publishers fudging numbers with giveaways and lootcrate?

DC never won that lawsuit with Fawcett over Captain Marvel

Look up the work of Brian Cronin.

Anything from common misconceptions (Ignorance that new guys spout (A person in my social circle once said that the original Avengers comics were a ripoff of the movies.) to shit like "Peter was the clone the whole time."
Steve Ditko DIDN'T leave Spider-Man over the Green Goblin's identity.

That qualifies.

Does Marvel and Wizard trying to promote the Sentry 17 years ago by saying he was a forgotten creation of Stan Lee count?

What about Silk as the first Asian superhero?
>>89723173
Carol Danvers is in fact not popular or important
>>89726402
Depends, are people still claiming that?
Also I just remembered something else, someone saying that Eminem was interested in starring in an adaptation of Millar's Wanted.

The one where Batman kills Joker in the Killer Joke.
How about the fake Fantastic Four movie?
Literally any comic where someone dies but reappear later saying s/he was only pretending.
You tried the Big Book of Hoaxes?
