It seems to be a sword and sorcery affair with I think mostly female cast that might be that not so fresh but not so stale mantra of "A Damsel in Distress that doesn't need rescued." It's not the freshest concept but Princeless and Princess Ugg do a similar thing. The former more than the latter mind you.

It's neat because I was one of the 3 Oni books that were reader submissions, I think it's always a nice thing to read books like this because it let's people know that they too can make a comic something I like to remind myself of from time to time and what companies are looking for.

Dude I want to make another one but the chinese company I bought my wireless mic from is being a dick about customer service when their shit broke after like 2 uses. Now I make enough money to buy a new one but I'm a stickler for good customer service so I will keep up this back and forth for a while more I think. I still think it's weird how SBL is the only submission they've published so far. Dunno man, I really disliked Zodiac. It was all over the place in story terms, and as an artist I'm not a big fan of this style. There's no contrasting colors, everything is so bright. It looks like a girls toy aisle. Even Barbie Life in the Dreamhouse uses darker colors when it's necessary.
I like Demon Lord Papyrus though.

Tomboy had a good color palette that didn't took away from the cuteness of the artstyle though.
Anyway, this book probably looks better on print. Seeing the digital version is too harsh on my eyes.

I just sorta post whatever strikes my fancy or I think would be interesting really. I liked Henderson's work on Subatomic Party Girls but her work on Squirrel Girl and Jughead really lacked a lot of appeal and overall it seemed like she went too far in a direction that emphasizes drawing faces that she thinks would be turned into memes on the internet rather than something that is enjoyable to look at, that and her work is too stiff for a super hero comic, and not in a statuesque way like Alex Ross, just an in general lack of properly conveying motion which is fine for Jughead but less so for a hero like Squirrel Girl. I think eventually Henderson could potentially be a good artist if she buckled down and looked at some of the people that do what she is trying to do but better.

I'm not saying I am percect but if that is what you want I have given it to folks many times over. Are you asking for a specific marathon of those things again or stuff like it? If you like Hellboy you should definitely check out Proof some time or Rasputin both by Grecian and Rossmo and while Rossmo isn't mignola-like in his art the tones of both books match up right on par with Hellboy, especially Proof.

I don't have a problem with damsel twist stories, but I wish they would bother to characterize the main character as something other than humorless, bitter, and pissed. That's always been the problem with carol danvers also. give her a hobby and some jokes or personality traits other than frowning and narrowing her eyes at literally everything that happens.

if there's no reason to like her other than that she's trapped in a situation she doesn't like, then the characters she is surrounded with are more likable than she is, and those are the characters the book is supposed to be saying are evil or misguided. like maybe they're misogynists but at least they're fun.
