Yeah. He was amazing as Aku. It was the perfect mixture of mischief and malice that made Aku just so unnerving yet funny.

Gendy won't really say anything other than Aku will talk in the new series, they did re-cast and they have a really good actor taking up the mantle but other than that they are keeping it a mystery till it airs.

We got lucky and even better than a movie in my opinion.

Genndy wanted to finish it with a movie, but a mini is way beter and allow for more development, while a regular season woudnt have as much quality animation as a movie.

There's actually a loophole there.

The rights to the merchandise and broadcasting of the 20 episode run that was produced were sold off to the USA government, but a new season with a different name (or subtitle) would have it's own set of rights not tied to what was sold off.

Unless they sold off the rights to the characters as well, which are separate from the rights to the show, which is all I assume was written off since broadcasting and merch rights are all that count towards a tax write off.
